as a Nurse myself, i have asked the doctor why they say shit like “they wont ____ ever again” they do that not because theyre lying, but bc the injury for sure can either still kill you or for sure make you not be able to do said thing. they bring your hopes down incase they die or something else bad happens, and also so that if they make a full recovery the fsmily feels extra joy for their loved one

Maybe that’s why they say that in this situation but I had brain cancer as a kid and after surgery had to relearn to walk and the doctors and pt told me I’d never ride a bike and it’d be a year before I could even walk on my own again and it almost seems like they we’re just trying to get out of doing their job because they never even tried then my parents took over my rehab and I was walking 2 months later and now I can surf so sometimes I feel they just don’t care enough to do their jobs correctly

@@jakebruce1034 oh for sure they were being seriois in that situation. whenever doctors say you may not be able to walk again, its serious. but when they say “you might not be able to walk as good as you were again” then its almost always a kind of “maybe”

As a fellow Texan, I can agree. Were taught from a young age to Duke it out if you have a problems and to handle your business. Were taught the value of self respect and constantly beaten with texas history to build pride.

@@chasemagness6824 Yep. Grew up in Virginia and live in Kansas now but lived in Texas for awhile and have roots in Texas and Louisiana. My dad(the Lousiana side of the family but LA and TX are very similar on this) always took the approach of(paraphrasing) "never be the first to fight but if one does break out, win it."

@@HistoryNerd808 my family is so old fashioned as a child if me or my older brother got into a fight with someone and lost we got whooped again at home. And if my brother and I threw down my mother refused to break it up in fear for her own safety because "they are like wild dogs, you can't break that shit up!" Is how she always responded when people ask about it and then she offers for them to give it a shot... that only happened twice because my brother elbowed one in the nose and I was in a headlock on the ground the second time and kicked this guy in the throat and face when he got to grabbing me😂😂

I broke my left femur ins 6 places, my pelvis in a way the doctor said wasn't supposed to be possible, forearm out the elbow, and clavicle with is where the color bone connects to the sternum and yes the body blocks so of it out. But I have never experienced anything like this.
