What a wonderful show talking about China today. I am little shocked by the number of views to this program. This show is so much better than those anti-China programs created by anti-China KZbinrs.

The oysters omelette can be found in South East Asia The oyster omelette, as known as o-a-tsian (蚵仔煎), o-chien (蚵煎) or orh luak (蚝烙; 蠔烙 ) is a dish of Hokkien and Teochew origin that is renowned for its savory flavor in its native Chaoshan and Minnan region, along with Taiwan and many parts of Southeast Asia such as the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore due to the influence of the Hokkien and Teochew diaspora. Variations of the dish exist.

Ho sey la. Can hear Quanzhou Hokkien. Intonation has strong Teochew (Chaozhou) influence vs Xiamen. Proud that Quanzhou still speak the language of the Tang Dynasty after more than 1200 years. We call ourselves the People of the Tang (唐人)

Amoy is one of the ancient names of Xiamen city. At Quanzhou and Xiamen, they speak the Hokkien dialect of the Minnan language in first.

Not minnan but a few words I can understand. My ancestors are from Amoy area, I believe Xiamen now. I must go back to visit in the next few years. The floral hairdo looks great n I would like to be invited to a wedding dinner to enjoy the food. The fried oyster is what I am used to, not like present day in Malaysia, with eggs instead of flour or rice porridge.

26:15 Fujian's oyster omellete. Every city has its own type but if you are Hokchew (Foochow) or Hokkien (other non-Foochow), this is THE dish of the province. First time seeing Quanzhou style (Or Chian). Uses lots of scallion.

My long departed grandma used to tell me (in Hokkien) if people asked you which part of China is your Hokkien from, tell them it's "A-mun" i. e. Amoy. I understand Amoy is also know by another name? I'm in the UK now and have never been to China proper - went to Taiwan twice and stopped over in Hong Kong in transit.
