U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Saturday to impose a 10 percent tariff on all Chinese imports under the pretext of fentanyl control efforts. China firmly opposes the new tariffs, which violate World Trade Organization (WTO) rules. It also calls on the U.S. to instead work on steady, sound and sustainable China-U.S. relations, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson said. China also has taken countermeasures, such as filing a complaint with the WTO. So, what's the nature of the latest tariff disputes? How could major powers like China and the U.S. steer ties toward global economic stability?

The USA does have capital punishment and indeed Trump has just written an Executive Order to encourage more capital punishment. However, remember the teen age Central Park 5 guys years ago? Charged with rape and murder? Trump paid for a full page newspaper ad to call for their execution. The Central Park 5 guys were imprisoned for years and then found to be innocent. Now they are released and free and some of them are politicians and I believe they are suing Trump for his interference.

The U.S. imported about $427 billion worth of goods from China in 2023, the most recent year with complete data, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
