Even if it does hit a speed bump, it is still 4 times better growth than any other countries economy in the world

It's actually a good thing for China and the world for China to advance to higher and more advanced fields, at the same time, leaving the lower ones for other less advanced to countries to take up. It's a win-win for everyone because it benefits everybody.

People or 'experts' who keep harping on how 'low' / 'slow' is the economic growth of China in recent years are either dumb or deliberately lying (or both). The reason is simple - the absolute SIZE of the Chinese economy today is multiple TIMES than it was 10 or 20 years ago. Hence, even an 'average' of 5% economic growth today would roughly be the same increase (in dollars amount) of a '10%' in the past. Just simple arithmetic. In 1984, China grew by 15.2%, and averaged over +10% annually through 2005, so 2023 growth dropping to a mere 5% is a big drop. Thing is, when China grew +15.2% in 1984, their economy was only $260 Billion USD (nominal), so they grew by +$40 Billion. In 2023, China's economy is $18 Trillion USD (nominal), so +5% growth adds +$900 Billion, 22.5 times greater than their 1984 growth and roughly 3.5 times the ENTIRE 1984 Chinese economy. In contrast, the USA will be lucky to add +$20 Billion to their economy, and it'll mostly be FIRE (Finance, Insurance & Real Estate) growth, rather than "real" industrial production and trade in goods. The UK is going into recession, Germany is in "technical" recession, and Japan has been ZERO growth for decades. Meanwhile, sanctioned Russia is expected to grow by +3%, faster than the USA.When people like Adrian Zeihan and Gordon Chang keeps being the nvited to talk and explain why the PRC is "collapsing", we, the informed people, can only wet our pants of laughing.

The problem is that the global economy is slowing down and China sells to the world. If the world economy is unhealthy then China will suffer too. This is the fundamental problem.

There is much xenophobia in the west nowadays. They are loudly calling for the collapse of China. Chinese people need to rally around the country. The Chinese economy is doing OK and it will chug along fine. Western funds leaving China is to be expected. Eventually, the Chinese people will end up owning more of their country’s assets like shares etc and foreigners less It will be the loss for the foreigners. I am a Malaysian and most Malaysian Chinese support China. We all love peace and prosperity.🌈🌈🌈

Let's put this topic in Marxist terms. China as a developing country has an economy whereby the organic composition of capital ( OCC) is lower than that of a developed country, such as the USA. The OCC is the ratio of constant capital ( machines buildings, raw materials) to variable capital ( wages). Let's s assume that the productivity level is the same in both countries so that the rate of surplus value ( what a worker produces beyond the value of wages in a working day) is 100%, meaning in an 8- hour working day, 4 hours of labor value goes to the workers 4 hours to the capitalist. For an aliquot part of capital of 100, the composition of capital in China could be 60 constant + 40 variable + 40 surplus for a total value of 140. Now in the USA, this composition could be 80 + 20 + 20 = 120 total value. In both cases the rate of surplus value is 100%. Rate of profit in China = surplus value/ cost of production c + v= 40/100=40%, and in the USA profit rate=20/100=20%. Since there is international capital mobilityz the USA capitalists will logically seek investment in China, and as this competition for capital goes on, it will eventually even out the profit rate in both countries ( we discuss this more in the future). BUT The Point is the following: there is an obvious economic rational for FDI to go to China, irrespective of the geopolitical " noise" AND , here's my unique insight: when the profit rate is higher, there is more profit that can be reinvested to " grow" the economy. When the economy grows, the sum of values, the sum of prices which is the gross domestic product grows, also. ERGO, love that word, the gdp growth rate in a developing country will tend to be higher. Note the word " tend" and it's implications that there could be countervailing factors to this phenomenon. Hmmm, I wonder if this resonates among bourgeois economists, such as Professor Yao Yang, who brashly stated that he just might break the glass bowls of Marxist in Peking U. Thanks for reading....yours truly, Professor Bao Helping of the School of Classical Economics, University of Television and the Internet (UTIN).😂

Marxist economists are not invited on The Point. As Professor Michael Hudson once quipped, " Just as in the 18 th century, when sex as a topic was taboo, Marxism is not worthy of discussion in America and the West today." I don't expect my comments above to be understood. But, it just might be in a future world.

China kept quiet, America spreading false reports on China. When someone is desperate this is what they do. When you lose, slanders are another option. China will print one trillion US dollars and buy everything from the developing and third world like America did many years ago.
