M23 rebels seize Kanyabayonga town in DR Congo

The M23 rebels are reported to have seized Kanyabayonga, a strategic town in eastern the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a town located on the northern front of the conflict in North Kivu province. The town is considered a pathway to the major commercial centres of Butembo and Beni in the north. Thousands of people have fled their homes following the M23 rebels' advance.
