A new Ivy Generator plugin for 3ds Max developed by Guillermo Leal has been just released, replacing the original Ivy Grow script by Guruware, which is been discontinued for a few years now.
Ivy Generator is available for 3ds Max 2018 - 2020 and it is free of charge, but you can always help the developer by donating through the PayPal button at the end of his web page.

Hey, I get this message from Max that i have to copu the .gup file in ENU folder.. then I saw on the site how to do it and I did it but i when you create a seed your plugin automatically finds an objects to scatter on and you can click the button to start the ivy growing. My script doesnt allow me to pick an object to scatter on and the button for growing stays gray so I installed it but it doesnt work .

Same, I mean as much as I would hate a 1 penny donation too he never fully understood how many people loved his work and relied on it.

@@NibblyBitz I think that was his whole issue. So many people used it for free making money off it, without giving him anything for it. Then the 1 cent donation put it into perspective. His time wasn't worth anything to these people other than they loved the plugin. Appreciation only goes so far, it doesn't put food on the table.

@@NibblyBitz 'he' fully understood very well how many people loved it and relied on it, but why show that only after 10 years of being a free plugin after the plug was pulled. after checking just 2 sites which had a download for the old version: one had 34.000 downloads, another one more than 45.000, and all of them didn't have a single spare dollar ? drink one beer less per year (or a pizza, or whatever), easy as that do you think there would be blender anymore if not big companies would invest? from the average user you can expect nothing (or maybe 1 cent) the only hope is that people learned something from this situation, but i think its hopeless - this is how humans are, telling themselves that they are so good and intelligent, but when it comes to prove that, there is just silence just watch us-movies: every 2 minutes someone is asking "are you ok, are you ok", but nobody really cares for crappy movies where super-heroines need to wear some covered up high heels or metal clothing which would cut a normal person into pieces after the 1st step, for such BS there is always more than a cent available or buying the newest game to kill monsters, aliens, and what not for some 30 years now - most important is to have ultra-realistic blood splatting over the screen in real time - but for saying "fuck" we need to cover it with a beep-sound, to keep children 'save' ? naked tits are a no-go, so people need to search for videos with girlies in wet t-shirts to see their nipples to get wet dreams - we as a species should extinct ourselves it was not THE one cent donation, it was some 40++ one cent donations, and some 2 cents, at some point enuff is enuff. although there were some 5 nice people which kept things going. paypal takes it all if a donation is less that ~38cents, so this guys made only paypal happy besides the donation issue there were lots of more or less bad mails, demanding nonsense because nobody really was reading the description there were also lots of mails with question about how things should be done, asking for tips. usually things that a company manages with some (not really helpful) support desk, spent lots of time helping people finishing their projects and never complained about it - but 'this guy' is a bad person because he doesn't give stuff for free anymore, how can he ? are people complaining about the big company AD, which charges now hundreds of dollars per month? but just a one-time support for a lone dev is asked too much - what a twisted world are we living in ? nobody has the slightest idea what it means to code such a thing, not to mention to make it stable for the avg user and keep supporting it with every new max-version over more than 10 years (ask Guillermo, if you want to know more thinks like this) complaining about a thing that costs nothing, but using a software which cost a thousand times more per year ? or just using pirated software to complain about? nobody said it was there to get rich with it. you might know or not, hosting a website cost something, power consumption, computer hardware cost, compiler and software are not free either, but people always want everything for free - but that changes very fast when they start their own business telling empty phrases like "keep up the good work" does not feed anyone, and isn't a big motivator either. even disney used it for feature films, never bothered to - at least - write a mail with some words of appreciation, that much about motivation if a dev. gives something for free, he/she also needs to pay some bills, or he/she needs to get a paid job, but then there is no more time to make 'free' things it still baffles me, that one has to explain such simple things over and over again maybe the coming AI's are writing free plugins on demand, good luck with that ahhh, venting is good, ...because there is no therapist available for 1 cent

When I try to spawn the leaves a sign saying "unknow property: "mode" in diffuseMult_Leaf:corona multimap" pops up and the leaves spawn without textures :(

@@herreramanu3l Getting the default macro folder: If you don’t have the default macro folder or you simply don’t know where is it please try this. - Press F11 to open the maxscript listener - Paste this in it, getDir #userMacros and click enter It will show you your macro folder, Copy the .mcr file that was in the zip file to that location and restart max
