the running lights on the wrong sides tripped me up and made me think I'd forgotten how naval running lights work. Good job though this thing is awesome

Running lights? You mean the red/green spotlights? Or the blinking red light on the back? The spotlights are just to make a “crosshair” of sorts so you know where the claw is going to grab, and the blinking light on the back is just a power indicator so you know the fuel cells are active.

@@Gillymonster18 red/green. If you're in doubt, remember - red for the left, green for the right.

@@HorizonSniper__ if I ever remember to add running lights to future stuff I’ll try to make it that way. In this case they were just a way to aim the claw at cargo. The way they’re pointed they make a blank spot in the middle directly below the claw. Initial thinking was “Right side, red side” but really it’s just the half and half coloration that’s important, they could be any colors.

This is how I imagined/roleplayed the rocovery button works. You press it and a cool helicopter like this one flies and pick your stuff.

Well if you land relatively close to a space center, now you can do it :)

Fantastic. What are your motor settings?
@Gillymonster182 жыл бұрын
Motor torque settings: slaved to main throttle. The important bit is the rotor blade settings: control authority is set to always be just 1 degree greater than the deployment angle and both are slaved to I/K (translate up and down). Lets there be very fine control in a hover. Also that little blower motor in the back does nothing but control yaw.

looks like a kamov helicopter to me

Little bit of both. Especially with the double rotors, but for the silhouette I was thinking of the sky crane.
