I got this done when I was 13-14 I think back in 2003/04.. honestly as bad as it sounds in the surgery, you really don't notice it or feel pain at all. Tho that does depend on the person doing the surgery.. tho I did not know at the time that you won't grow anymore after it's done... so yeah that's the downside.. but hey better than suffering breathing or organ damage in the future. lol

@ShadowRealmFox2 жыл бұрын
@@hollyleivers6749 Yeah, it's just to straighten the spine and once its fully healed the rods aren't really required anymore. You still have mobility once your full healed.. depends on the sport I think.. then again i was never into doing sports so I'm not really sure, I would suggest talking to the doctor about it all and see what you can and can't do afterwards. I got it done at an early age that it just became part of daily life for me.. so what's normal for me is probably different for other people.

@@whiteflower7620 Try to look for very specialized physical therapist that will help you to compenzate the scoliosis.. 18 is a great age where you stil can affect your spine state. Please please do the most of the specialized excercises that you can , because the surgery should be THE LAST option.. its very limiting, and hard to live with. I reccomed SM System-spiral stabilization excercises and DNS (dynamic neuromuscular stabilization) excercises - those are very helpful and effective techniques of Czech professionals. Please Please, consider everything before you undergo spinal surgery. Im future physiotherapist and went throught scoliosis from childhood till now. It will never be fully treated, but everything can be compenzated to a very good state of living. I'm seeing my consultant surgeon on 1st of July and am definitely going to push for surgery.. I am so bent forward and also leaning to the right. I'm constantly in pain. I'm so depressed and it's now beginning to affect my hip on my left and my right knee.due to the way I'm walking and posture. I hope they don't say that it's to far gone or that I'm to old at 50 yrs now? If there is any advice any one who knows what there talking about can give me I would be so grateful. Thankyou
