I've felt intense blinding pain from my own senseis on techniques. I've had, several times, ribs temporarily dislocated during a demonstration (they do go back in place). One is very fortunate to experience the real technique. But what he tells us is that we will experience the amount of force and intensity we put into a technique multiplied back to us. During training the attacks must be in the right context. Screw up enough and they stop calling on you to help demonstrate.

"Modern Togakure-ryu and various historical claims are taught by Masaaki Hatsumi (Takamatsu's successor) and the Bujinkan organization. Criticism regarding the historical accuracy of the Bujinkan's claims of lineage have arisen from several issues of the Bugei Ryūha Daijiten: The 1978 version of the Bugei Ryūha Daijiten states that Takamatsu's Togakure-ryu "genealogy includes embellishments by referring to data and kuden about persons whose existence is based on written materials and traditions in order to appear older than it actually is."[38] The 1969 version of the Bugei Ryūha Daijiten states that Takamatsu's Togakure-ryu "is a genealogy newly put together by Takamatsu Toshitsugu, who made use of (took advantage of) the popularity of written materials on ninjutsu after the Taishō era" and that "there are many points where it has added embellishments, it has made people whose real existence is based on written records older than is actually the case, and so it is a product of very considerable labor".[39] The 1963 version of the Bugei Ryūha Daijiten states of Takamatsu's Togakure-ryu "this genealogy refers to various written records and oral transmissions and there are many points/places where embellishments have been added and people appearing in the genealogy are also made older than they actually are".[40]
En loa seminarios asi s e muestran las tecnicas..pero en los entrenos son movimientos rapidos..yo he peleado en la calle y hasta el momento me han funcioando muchas tenicas.

Maybe Hatsumi is trying to teach some things that need time, but clearly the majority of the people won´t get it (that is why his classes used to be only for advanced black belts). It doesn´t mean we won´t train hard when we need. On the other hand I agree that if we only work out like this we would definitely waste our time and not be well prepared for real situations. Well, that is my opinion.

i can tell you, this could looks silly, but it works, i train in the bujinkan since 2 months ago, and is awesome, we know that nobody hit in that way in real life, so after see the traditional way, we see the "modern" way against boxing punches or muay thai style kicks and other kind of punches and kicks, not only that, we know that the thecniques some times wil not work like we want, but is in that moment when we use an adaptation for the situation called "genka", ninjutsu is very very efective

That's super interesting! I've never heard of that. I havn't trained in a long while due to a large lack of money. Hopefully in the future I will be able to get back into it. For now I train, far less than I should since im a college student with a part time job, on my own.
@glennoc85853 жыл бұрын
Yeah the cost is very high to train in the Bujinkan, Genbukan due to trips to Japan and the fees to train are expensive. People from wealthy families have it easier or some spend a fortune. I trained in Japan decades ago and the class were smaller less crowded and you'd hardly see Japanese students or women. The internet has exposed the art now.

武神館真剣道場 スペイン A very good video with Hatsumi Sensei in DaikomyoSai [11052020L]
I preferred how Soke Hatsumi taught when he was a little younger. He operates on a level of low aggression and violence which is difficult to take seriously. when multiple attackers just stand there and wait.
@jon824894 жыл бұрын
Soke took a different approach after he was sick and understood that instead of using strength and speed he developed a system that uses distance, angling, timing, and space to take someone's balance and disrupting it
@glennoc85853 жыл бұрын
@@jon82489 yeah but you aren't learning the speed and timing of the Budo that is suppose d to be taught. Sensei should retire when they can no longer demonstrate the full densho. Students that watch as the early videos see the proper technique. Now you can train with the shihans/sokes but even they are going all slow henka.

its not so much being compliant as it is being afraid of the intense amount of pain, and possibly causing injury to the grandmaster.

04:10 - so REALISTIC. The students laughter says so. It’s a joke and nothing more. This scenario would never happen.
4:08 If that isn't being compliant then I don't know what compliant is. This does annoy me ever so slightly, more so when you check out the videos of Takamatsu Sensei and you can see the difference in realism. This reminds me somewhat of Morihei Ueshiba, eventually Akidoist would be so compliant that Morihei Ueshiba could just cough and someone would fall over. What has happened to Togakure Ryu eh!

I think it's scary how many people are taken in by this. NO ONE punches like that in real life. You would NEVER get the chance to 'tie' people up like that. Takamatsu Sensei would be rolling in his grave. The Buijinkan has become a laughing joke because of seminars and demonstrations like this with opponents that are wooden and colmplient. It is almost like they are under hypnosis because they are in the presence of a Grandmaster.

NINJAS ? Time to grow up in this day and age. Men acting like Ninjas lol...so unrealistic and childish behaviour. They practice this choreographed stuff that wont work in reality because they cant do realistic martial arts...too much work and they might get hurt.Dancing and acting is more safe than real martial training.
