I personally love the First Take version. have more depth and texture, like aged wine. Actually, I’m not a fan of him before, but I love his voice in the First Take version.

I was little bit disappointed when I first listened to the First Take version. I thought it was off beat, but you could see the pitches are totally fine after listening a couple of times. Dynamics have better control with lower keys and new arrangement. I can feel his own feeling and emotions connected with the song. What a fantastic live performance!

@@DinoDanny I don’t think his singing was off beat. When only piano backing in the beginning, it is like a storytelling time, so it kind of like “Tempo rubato” or “free time”. I’ve try to count the beat of his singing, quiet steady with no big mistake. I think lower key can make people remember his voice.

I am not a fans of Jason, but I like his way of singing now more than before, more mature and steady, feel lot more in-depth, as he said in interview, he would like to present more mature , not just a love song prince, u can see this different from his recent songs, no matter the way he sing or song topics.

His voice was broken in ~2012. But he started training with his teacher since 2019, his voice (especially lower voice/mid-high chest voice) is much stronger and deeper than before! However, the best falsetto voice was lost in 2012.☹️ And the new songs of him since 2019 are more focus on his deep chest voice, seldom uses his falsetto voice. There are many HKers said they love the original version than the first take edition. I guess Jason and his team may want to reintroduce his new position and image to the market. As the song was published in 2009, but it's 2023 already. The little boy in the story had become a grown up man already.

I am a fan of Jason Chan and I prefer the key of his original version to the one he did on The First Take. I still love him and will support him for as long as he sings. He is a treasure to an entire generation of HK youth, particularly the '90s millennials, in terms of childhood memories.

The original version seems to express the emotion of sadness during the relationship, where as the first take version feels more mature and reflecting on the ended relationship and expresses the emotions about it with the passage of time. I love both versions, but I prefer the first take one because it gives me more like a calm feeling and let go of this relationship.

Perhaps the first take is the safest version, I think he was very nervous, and a little bit old school canton pop feelings. In this concert version like much more modern pop song and that's the concert. Maybe I am the same age as Jason, the original one was his iconic, up and coming voice with the taste of youth when he was in his 20s, and the First Take one represents a more mature with more life experience Jason Chan. I agree that the TFT version is more mature and calm Apart from his vocal cord injury, he becomes a husband and father in 2017&2018 as well, which might changed his mind as well I like both versions for this song too & thank you for commenting both of them!

People keep pointing at him saying the first take version is bad, not his peak, original ver is better blahblahblah. I mean come on. Its rearranged, and he gets old, and his voice aged. Thats same as everyone else on earth. The critics themselves get old too. So its totally not comparable. Its like you wont compare the acoustic version to the CD one. Its just different version, different plays. Do what the channel says, enjoy the pure music.
