This is awesome because I have all his music downloaded on Spotify, but it's all written in Chinese. I don't know the titles of any of his music in English. I'm slowly getting to know the titles of a few of them through the videos here. My translator does not work on Spotify. I love this song, but I've never seen the English lyrics to it. Thanks for your continued reaction to World music for people like me who enjoy it. 😎

This song is about his lonely childhood. When he was 2 or 3 years old, his parents divorced. He then lived wit his father. However, his father was always busy and on the way of business trip. So he was always alone at home. The lyrcist has written 3 totaly different version of lycris for this song and the 3rd one was accepted by Hua. Hua's "exaggerated" has lots of emotion

You need to understand his childhood to understand where he is coming from with this song. He had a tragically sad childhood. His mother left him and his father when he was very young. His father was so busy with work that he never had time for his son. Hua Chenyu grew up yearning for love but not getting it. He would not let anyone get close to him because his mother left him and his father was never emotionally there. He was therefore afraid to trust anyone. He used to fantasize that there were parallel universe's and that love existed in one of the parallel universe's. That is acted out in the official music video for this song. He eventually realized that by not communicating how he felt to his father, that he had some responsibility in how his relationship with his father never developed. He and his father have since reconciled and they have a good relationship now. When he was competing on the Chinese TV show "Superboy 2013" (a singing competition) he mentioned that his father had never told him he was proud of him. When Hua Chenyu won that season his father came on stage and told him that Hua Hua was his pride (the producers had confronted his father about never telling him he was proud of him which came as a surprise to his father because he had never thought about it). Hua Hua has stated that winning Superboy was one of the highlights of his life simply because his father told him that he was proud of him. His father has remarried and had a daughter and a son with his new wife so Hua Chenyu now has a half sister and half brother that he loves dearly. All of this was healing for him in many different ways. He has come to accept the love from his fans as well and is in a mentally stable place these days but he is very honest about how unstable his past had been. He often sings about the pain of his pat in hopes that it will connect with individuals who are depressed and need help

There’s a glitch when he did the flip on the high notes. Thank you for reacting to one of my fave!! ‘Bake a potato in the oven’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Anyway, he didn’t write this song. The composer and the lyricist is 2 different people. He choose this song out of thousands of demo and went to the songwriter and told him ‘in China, only him can sing this song’. The lyricist is one of the famous and most respected lyricist and have written to many of Hong Kong famous singers in the 90’s. It is the same one that wrote the lyrics for I am what I am by Leslie. I’m not sure if you have reacted to HuaHua singing that song. The lyricist did his research and rewrote the lyric 3 times to get the closest description of who is HuaHua. That is HuaHua. Yes indeed, HCYs concert stages are always amazing. But you got the lyrics slightly wrong.. hes the lonely outsider observing the happyness of others… rejecting it still longing for it, but also accepting it.. being different… being the ashes from fireworks not the colours. He bought this song from one of Chinas best songwriters. He said this is the song that describes him best.
