I'm pretty sure those are red asiatic lillies (not poppies, as another comment said), however they're also used for funerals, and they symbolize the soul’s departure and restoration to a pure, innocent form after death. I find that very fitting with the rest of the picture and the lyrics.

So glad I was able to remember the title of this song. It's been haunting me for years now. Such a captivating song and picture. I found myself reading the title in reverse order and got "We aren't friends, are we?" 😢 The white crosses look a bit like a street crossing to me. Due to the perspective of the picture, it almost looks like the girl on the left is lying on her back in the middle of the walkway. It gives me the impression that she was hit by a car.

I think the blue haired girl commited suicide- I got some reasons- 1. It looks like she's standing on the rooftop of a building, u see- 2. The bridge that leads to her friend is kinda invisible... I think. Because i can see the building behind it slightly- 3. Their uniforms are different, i actually never saw girls in a school that uses summer uniforms on a winter day, or vice versa- 4. Well , you don't know what's after death, so if there's nothing after death, it's normal that the bridge is invisible and i think some japanese people think that after death there's afterlife, so obviously if they're rebirth they won't be together in my point of view
