I also do think at least to do some degree it would have done very well even if it had not released on GamePass if all the other factors remained in play (shadow drop and no marketing campaign).

It's indeed a lazy and generic twist. And completely more shit if it's not done correctly. For example fallout 4 the character was looking for Shaun his son and the entire time Shaun had already grown up old. Your character was the chosen one and potential person, you have to make the hard choices of picking factions. The minutemen, institute and or the brother hood of steel. However I'd guess most people would've picked brother hood of steel for the power armor and such benefits of the vertibird. But I choose the institute to follow old Shaun's ideals and rebuilding the world with the high technology of the institute.

I think it's a fun game, nice graphics, interesting gameplay, fast action and a wide variety of spells. The conversation of the main character and others is no worse than that of many other games, such as dragon dogma, dragon age, assassins creed, etc. Sometimes better, the development of the main character and how she views the world and herself is fine. But hey, I'm a 70 year old gamer who has been playing games for 42 years and still enjoys them.

Part of the fun that games like GoW and Elden Ring is the learning curve of the combat. Pulling off combos in GoW and figuring out the Dodge/Parry timing for Elden Ring+GoW for example is so satisfying once you learn them and Forspoken just goes the route of mash your way to victory.

I have over 8 years old PC. Because of that I don't play most new games. When I saw Forspoken for 70$ (over 300 in my currency) I was like "Not gonna happend. Too much money for a game I know nothing about". Sometimes I hate my old PC but sometimes its a good thing.

Its sad because the actual actress seems like such a sweet girl and, like you said, she did the best she could do with the material given. I just hope the negative press of this project doesn’t harm her future job prospects because she deserves a better shot at this 🙏🏼

The spells in combat is like a consumable drug I can get high on dopamine until it expires. It had me on the power level from the trailer until it becomes auto drive, but it’s stupid fun for me that ends quickly when I’m fighting enemies. Boring and simple punching bags I can test on until idc. On a different game with the flashy and variety of spells, it’s satisfying for me to play with for hours.

There's an interview with one of the credited writers where he mentioned there was an original game story concept they worked on but was ultimately rebooted by square enix and in the aftermath neither him nor amy hennig(who i assume u were talking about?) had much if anything to do with the new story and especially the dialogue.

Feels like you're reaallyy shoving in that Elden Ring and God of War comparison. This game does not resemble either of those in any way except for the fact that it is an action adventure RPG set in a medieval fantasy world. You could pick any RPGs but for some reason chose to keep making that comparison to GOW and Elden Ring. Why? I agree largely with the review but that comparison feels very forced. Forspoken is a shit game but I don't think it was trying to copy GOW/Elden Ring like you're making it out to be.
