Chacchoben - Excursion Booked Through Royal Caribbean [Costa Maya]

This excursion was purchased through Royal Caribbean Shore Excursions.
Ancient Mayan archeological site located approximately 1 hour from the cruise port. Booked. through the cruise line it included transportation on a large charter style bus over a well maintained highway. Once at the location there is a welcome center with restrooms, concessions, and souvenirs.
Most of the tour is on fairly level ground though at times it was uneven and had the occasional tree root crossing it. There is a portion that requires climbing stairs if you want to view the structures located at the top. This could easily be skipped for those who have difficulty climbing stairs.
The tour lasts approximately 4 hours.

Hi, thank you for sharing. Thinking about booking this tour but concerned about the departing/ returning time. According to Royal Caribbean's website, the cruise gets to port at noon and the our starts at 12:30 pm and lasts 4 hours. the cruise is set to depart at 4:30 pm. Is this really doable?

This was purchaed through Royal. My understanding is they will wait for your tour to return and not leave you behind. The tour met on the ship in the theatre and walked as a group to the bus.

Hello, your video is so helpful. I am considering this excursion for my cruise in Dec. 24. In the video, it looks like you are walking, climbing many ruins. Is that correct? Were you at the ruins for 2 hours?

I would say pretty close to 2 hours. Enough time to not feel rushed. Have fun.

Perhaps. I could say that about a few that I've been on. It was something we wanted to see and we can now check that off the list. I will say that the tour guide we got was fantastic.
