The cultural shift is pretty extreme, honestly. My boyfriends were all 10yrs + older than me after I turned 16ish. So were all my friend's boyfriends. It was totally normal at the time. I remember how conveinet it was that all of our boyfriend's were able to buy us drinks at the hotel bar after prom. I'm not arguing the morality or legality. Just sayin, for decades (hundreds of years, actually), age gap relationships like this were a societal norm. Society has set a new standard, which is great, but I think the past should be considered with a certain contextual lean. All that being said, there was enough age difference between Shoshana and Jerry that he was catching some heavy side eye.
