@@kingston4313 that might be true, for big cities. I lived there for about a year and hated it. I am not a city person, i hate crowded places. Might be great, i don't like it.

I was born in Austria, but lived in the USA for many years. My children and grandchildren are currently touring Austria and I am trying to follow their route on KZbin. That's when I came across Chad and Claire. I am so impressed with their videos that I keep on watching their experiences all over Austria and beyond, which reminds me of all the places where I grew up. The Austrian food video is also phenomenal. Great job Chad and Claire. Your travels bring back a lot of memories.

Vienna, Salzburg, and Hallstatt were among our favorite vacation stops, and it looked like your time in Austria was spectacular, too. Off to Innsbruck? You will love it! Safe travels summer elves.

We were in Vienna for three nights just a couple weeks after you (a flight stopover on our way to Albania), and I loved seeing your time in this beautiful city--walking in Schonbrunn, listening to Mozart--mirroring ours. But happily, your food tour angle (as always) gives a chance to vicariously have a little more of the yummy things we couldn’t fit in to our time there. Thanks!

Loved how relaxed and at peace you both were during this video. I laughed so hard at the kid rolling down the hill. Too funny. Also loved Claire’s outfit for this video, that colour looks lovely❤

Hi Claire & Chad! Do you recommend renting a car in Vienna? Thanks! Love all of your videos!
@alestev244 ай бұрын
I am obviously not Chad or Claire, but I have been living in Vienna for 59 years. My answer is a distinct NO. Don't rent a car. The only time you need a car in Vienna is when you want to get out of the city. If you only stay in Vienna, buy a time ticket for public transport. You can tickets for 24, 48 or 72 hours or 7 days, if you stay that long. And the public transport system (U-Bahn, tram, busses) is among the best in the world, if not the best. For some lomger routes (like if you want to cross the Danube to the Eastern more modern and moire rural parts of Vienna, the S-Bahn is also recommended. You can use that as well with your overall tickets.

In looking at the booking site for the Golden Hall for the Mozart music it says that it is a formal, black tie dress code event. It didn't appear that way in your video. Any tips on which concerts impose the dress code and which do not? Thanks.

We just book the same concert through Get your guide. My wife & I are not a big music fan we just want to explore the theatre and experience. We booked the cheapest ticket on the back. I assume this should be ok and still we can see the performance?

The Viennese cuisine offers countless amazing dishes and you eat the same over and over again? Why? 11:21 Does this mean you only listen to operas that are fully instrumental without vocals? How is this possible?
@naryma787410 ай бұрын
Why only 24h? For the record, you need aprox. 5 full days for the main attractions in Vienna alone, if you also wish the walk about a bit, do some shopping, immerse in the culture and visit some museums - thats easily 2 weeks. I cant show you 3000y of history of the capital of Central Europe in 24h, you got to give me more time for that^^ 0:37 THE? They had hundreds of residences in the empire. Schönbrunn was used as a partial residence by some Habsburg members. 3:35 The view is nice but dont recommend the food, its a pure tourist trap. The coffee house is very recent and was simply added for the tourists - no history behind it. There are far better and more affordable locations nearby. 6:20 Well if thats you r looking for I recommend Danube Island, Lobau, Kahlenberg, Lainzer Tiergarten - just to name a few. Certainly not the main tourist hub in the city sorrounded by hundreds of eyes. 9:50 Please tell me you didnt just go into the Golden Hall with street clothes?

Dear Chad and Claire! Some of your comments on food as well as on places show some little misunderstandings and some gross underestimations of our Austrian cuisine. I‘d like to give you some even better insights into cuisine and Austrian off track places, spots,… and please - when using Strauss Waltzes as background, use Austrian orchestra playing them (and not the touristic ones), as the timing and phrasing was totally off. You‘ll understand, when you hear the difference. Best regards and wishes! Helmut from Austria
