TBH, as a liberal born European of GER descent, what I ultimatedly like the most about your fortunately growing YT-channel is your ubiqiutously respect and appreciation towards the given diverse cultures of the so-called "Old World" which shouldn't be considered "old" IME in the first place.... English obviously isn't my Mother Tongue as you'd probably could've noticed before, but you've been helping to unrust (derust???) my English speaking skills. Europe needs more US tourists exactly like you - we aren't Disneyland, we are for real! 🥰

We love Split, I'm fourth generation Croatian and I got to see where my great great grandma's house was on Hvar this past summer which was so special. You guys are such an inspiration for us. Sending good vibes from Panama. 🥰

croatia is famous among boating and yachting because they are in the mediterranean and they allow a lot more passengers on a boat before they bump up your taxes and call you a cruise ship. Take a look at the boats, and you should totally rent one to go sailing!!! Theres another youtuber called sailingUma in italy. They are stuck in italy rebuilding their boat, and they seem like a fun couple that you guys would like. Uma is the boat, Its dan and kika. and they are living out of their van and rebuilding their boat. You guys should do a vid together on the coast of italy!!!!

Hi, thank you for a beautiful video about the paradise I live in! Come and check my hometown Trogir, 30 km away from Split and don't miss Primošten either 😊 Just a little remark, we don't call it water here, it's the Sea, salty and blue 💙 As we say, water is for frogs 😂 Anyway, thanks again also for showing love and respect by knowing some important facts about the history and culture of the place we love so much! Keep enjoying Croatia 👋🐟🍷

Hello from France The old name of the island of Vis is Lissa. in 1866 a naval battle took place between Italy and Austria off the coast of this island, the battle was won by Austria
@mariomarino30202 ай бұрын
The old name of the island of Vis is Issa. There was foreign Italian administration imported to Dalmatia from the Alps in the beginning of the 19th century by blessing of Vienna, they didn't know local geography and misinterpreted a lot of local toponyms. Issa (Vis), Lissa (Ugljan & Pašman), Celadussa (Dugi Otok), Gissa (Pag) are Liburnian toponyms from the Iron Age, some like Issa survived in the New Age. Lissa is not the island's old name, but Italian exonym, Italian misinterpretation from a few centuries ago.

Hvar is a party island! You didn’t need water shoes to deal with rocky beaches/water? I took a tour of the Palace and it is super interesting how they built it since the water came right up to the palace! Game of Thrones! You missed the best beach! It is at the end of of Marjan Hill/pennisula. (Hiking Marjan Hill is great too). The name of the beach is Kasjuni! Definitely worth it!

Gosh..never considered Slavic countries..guess I felt they were nondescript. I'm impressed! If there was one sense of historic connectivity in Croatia...with what historical region would it be? Russia? Italy? Greece? Roman? Don't know it so can't peg it. As usual...the food looked delicious!
