YOU ARE AN AMAZING WOMAN OF GOD! you take such great care of your family and you are always striving to do what is best for them. your Costco/aldi haul looks almost exactly like mine. we, too, had to do an overhaul of our grocery purchases, but it is totally worth it. it is a shame that prices are so high that when we treat ourselves it is on food, but praise God we have the finances to do so. Psalm 37:25 "I once was young and now am old, yet never have I seen the righteous abandoned or their children begging for bread." God bless you all!

Hi Erin! Pro Chef checking in (Culinary Arts degree), we learned in college, frozen fruit and veg has the highest nutrient content because of the IQF process, it means Individually Quick Frozen. When its cut from the plant, its immediately washed and frozen❤ in the field! Time, temperature, light, humidity all affect how quickly nutrients deteriorate. If we get something grown in another State/Country, say fresh broccoli, once its cut, boxed, transported to the store, unpacked and displayed, that "fresh" veg/fruit, say in 2-3 weeks has lost soooo much if its nutrients, its not as healthy as most would think! This may be different for those who live in warmer climates or are blessed with local farmer roadside stands, but in the Midwest, our season is short! I figured I would share becsuse you are health conscious 🤗 and I was excited to see your frozen strawberries! I enjoyed watching this, thank you for sharing❤ As a person with (new) Celiac Disease diagnosis, I need to change my diet and I looooove how you said "swap", it doesn't sound as drastic as what the doc says😂...change your whole diet...gulp, scary😂 I'm going to heed your excellent advice and swap, in a slower paced manner! You're the best! I always tell myself, what I put in my body now determines how I spend my golden years, enjoying life and healthy enough to travel! People in my huge family ate bad and are in the hospital, doctor offices, going for tests, all kinds of pills, its sad! But, we do have a choice what we eat and our attitudes, yours is amazing and you are possibly saving your children from health ussues down the road as well! Great job!!! Change can be hard, but poor health is harder! I do natural healing, about a decade now because it works, but still see my PCP annually for bloodwork and check up. No prescriptions, don't need them! This gluten free is a major change, so I am grateful to you, Erin, thank you❤ Have a blessed weekend!

We're made the switch to bulk buying with Azure Standard and I really think it's saved us TONS buying once a month vs going to the store once or twice a week. Less impulse buys (though they still were random), we make pretty much 80-90% of our meals/ ingredients from scratch now, and I rest much easier knowing there's no GMO, sprays, and we choose organic for many things. I'm looking forward to having time to finish this one up, but love the eagerness of Brooklyn helping you shop!

I loved how you explained why you got each item as far as health goes. We also have eliminated a lot of unhealthy things from our diet over the years gradually. We have 4 kids and that is our highest expense for the month with them almost all being teenager now. My youngest will be 13 this month. Food can help us or hurt us if it's filled with junk and so I appreciate you sharing all these tips that can help others as so many are unaware of the negative effects if we don't consider what we are eating. I want to mention as a helpful tip that if you guys are typically eating yogurt, it is simple to make it homemade! You can make it by the gallon with milk in a crockpot and all you need is a small single serve container culture to get it going! That can save a lot of money in the long run also if you decide to try it. Thanks for sharing this! God bless you guys!

As a kid, I was my mother's grocery store companion. We were a family of seven, so I feel you on this. I knew her routine in and out. Mom had a list, but it merely stated the have to get items. We were always going to get more than that list stated. I went with dad one time when mom was recuperating from surgery, and he only went by the list. I tried to explain that he wasn't doing it right, but that was how it was going to go with him, so I just had to accept it. Even as an adult, I jumped up to help her unload her vehicle as soon as I heard her drive up. It was just drilled into us that we were expected to help her get things inside, and then we got out of the way as she put it all where she wanted it to be. We were informed that we were not helpful with that part.

Erin, thank you for sharing your healthy shopping tips . I think it's great that you are making changes to your food shopping to make sure that you are eating the healthiest food for your family.. I spent a lot of time when my kids were young to try and feed them healthy. I used a lot of healthy cook books and today my kids have kids of their own and they feedl them healthy because of the way I did for them. I believe it is important to teach them young about the importance of making good choices on how to eat right. It might cost a little more and take a little more time but it is worth it for your mind and body. What a great shopping buddy you have. God Bless You All and thank you again.🙏😊
