CHADAR TREK LADAKH 2023 | Travel Film

The Chadar trek is a frozen river trek and one of India's coldest and toughest treks. You will trek through the frozen Zanskar river from Shingra Koma to Nerak Falls in four days. The climate is the main challenge here, the temperature can drop down to -30 degrees and further.

No, chadar is only possible while the Zanskar river is completely frozen, from mid-December to mid of February

@@jamkindness1235 the package was around 25k INR per person from leh, ladakh, including accomodation n food. + Need to do medicals and insurance there that again 10k INR. Not sure about the foreigners, guess it is almost the same.

Before this chadar trek, u did any trekking high altitude ? Here it double wammy -25 temp n high altitude? Did u come across finding it difficult to walk on ice ?

I have done Brahmatal trek in Uttarakhand, before chadar. As a trek it is easier than many of the North Indian treks as we don’t have to climb much. The difficulty is the temperature, you need to layer your clothing perfectly to withstand low temperatures. Walking on the ice is a bit tricky, but you will learn it in one day and get ready to fall a few times, everyone will.
