A Former Naked, Tomb-Dwelling Demoniac Becomes an Evangelist

I don't understand. If they bagged not be sent into the abyss and Jesus allowed them to go into the pigs why did they throw themselves into the abyss?

That seems to be part of the irony. Their choice of habitation, the swine, took them there, where they didn’t wish to go.
