Ring Sizing Tips: Calculating size and Measuring

This short tutorial shows you several tips to make getting a ring size correct easier. Many of my silversmithing students struggle to hit the correct size when making a ring. Can they take a sewing measuring tape and wrap around the finger then take that and wrap around your mandrel?

That should get you pretty close. I wouldn't wrap it tightly around the finger, as that doesn't take into account knuckles:)
