With the manner DDP got that belt, if he has a true competitor spirit, he should ask UFC to give Strickland a rematch as much as Sean himself wants one. These other matches should come second to proving he truly won that title.

DDP knows he logically lost the fight, and only eeked it out by risking a sneaky headbutt. It is pretty clear in replay that Sean has barely a cut over his left eye, then DDP headbutts him and blood starts gushing from the cut(conveniently camera angle is all from rear and no other footage released as if they dont have cams all around?) - that is the only reason DDP won is because of that damage done illegally. If it was an accident or not, it is not an accident that the Referee, judges and the athletic commission all decided to ignore this. He didnt have a point deducted (would have been a draw and Champ keeps belt), judges counted it as damage (even though DDP was INCAPABLE of doing that damage legally) and the Athletic Commission did not review, comment on or revise it. Theres no way DDP wants that rematch with Strickland, he literally had nothing that could hurt Sean except sneaky headbutt and useless takedowns that resulted in 0 hits. Dricus Du P*ssy plans to pretend injuries for the next year or so while sitting on the belt, pretending to be the Champ he is not, then lose it to the first guy he fight. Watch and see. UFC rly F up by handing him a belt when he didn't deserve it. They hated Sean because of politics, but DDP is so much worse for the sport itself. Thats what happens when you undermine your own sport over stupid sh*t that happens outside the octagon. UFC lost MILLIONS of potential new fans by SILENCING and CANCELLING Strickland. Very very sad

Bo doesnt deserve to be on that main card. Hes facing absolute cans, the promotion doesnt even hide it, and the only thing they can manage to do here with this spot is sink his star power. He has to win dominantly or it's just a bad look. Hes on the PPV bc algorithmically, theyve decided by the numbers and cohorts, the people that buy PPVs have crossover with Bo Nickal fandom, so it's a more valuable move for the UFC. That doesnt mean it makes sense or is actually warranted whatsoever competitively, and that's exactly the situation we're in. I think the most interesting outcome here is the UFC gambling with their money essentially and spoiling it for themselves by Bo not having a great performance. The fans will turn on him in such a case just like Paddy for not winning empathetically enough. Fans see this stuff for what it is, and despise the promotion not putting on better fights and they use this ammo to assault the UFC's future stars the moment it doesnt go according to script. Kinda hoping that happens bc I'm sick of the games the UFC plays now. Its really made me lose interest in the sport. The direction the sport has taken, seemingly since the UFC was bought out, points to a watering down of the league. Suddenly top fighters arent secured long term, matchups stink to high heaven, etc. Its no longer that league where we always get the fighters in their prime against each other. Its got built in excuse making now for not delivering the highest competition every time out, similar to why boxing became stale. I dont even watch a lot of cards bc i just don't care that much anymore. Its all about over the top cringe trash talk, basically dudes debasing themselves for low IQ fans with bronze age politics to latch onto. There was a time in there when this barbaric sport had a great conpetitive architecture making all the nonsenze bearable. The moment that goes im gone.

There is absolutely no way they put Bo in there versus Khamzat next. Bo is on the O'Malley timeline of being built up by the UFC. They are going to put him in there against someone with a number next to their name for their next fight, but it's going to be someone who he has as good of a style matchup against as possible to maximize his odds of winning. Someone like a Paul Craig or Marvin Vettori who don't have that good of standup skills and who want to take the fight to the ground as soon as possible.
