He's been particularly stressing about January 18 when he's cornering 3 fights in one night. Can't remember where I saw him saying something along the lines of "I could fight 3 times in one night no problem but we'll see if I can survive Jan 18." And remember that video of him stress-choking Umar in the corner during one of Usman's fights 😂

I coached a little league baseball team a few years ago. A bunch of 11-12 year olds, that was the most stressful and fun thing I’ve ever been apart of. Felt like we were in a real run to the World Series 😂
@markzuckergecko62118 күн бұрын
And those are probably the most stressful years to coach little league too, because that's a big step up where they're starting to play more real baseball, with base running and more complex pitching. Plus the boys are becoming men and have all the hormones and crap.
@loganpinner521218 күн бұрын
@ the things they would say it sounded like a true unhinged Chael presser. I was like “did I say stuff like this growing up?” Which I probably did but it was truly so much fun while also being so damn stressful. I would do it 100x over. Little league is the last true place you really get to enjoy the game. Once you get into highschool it’s all about winning, little league is only FUN.

@@loganpinner5212 you're freaking telling me man, my nephew is a sophomore, he's always loved baseball, but you have to wonder if he really still loves it. It's all about scouts and scholarships now. And he's a pretty good player too, lefty pitcher and outfielder, but if we're being real, his chances of going pro aren't great. He's a normal sized kid, wait till he's facing guys that are just as talented but also 6'3" monsters.

@ I played my whole life into highschool and by my senior year I was burned out. My mom made me stay in it just because I had done it for so long and I appreciate her not letting me quit on the team and more importantly myself. I still watch the Little League World Series and tell everyone it’s the best sports you will watch. Shoutout to Nephew lol, you never know man. A lot of guys will stay at the lower leagues for years until getting a true shot. Those 6’3 guys all have talent but when someone is normal sized they realize it takes a lot more drive and determination. If you’re me and 5’10 you don’t always stand a chance but I do think determination will just carry you so far in life. I’m only 26 and realize when I truly want something I will get it. It may take time but I will get there. Thanks for this convo lol normal people on the internet is rare

Khabib is such a legend
@jocollantes425818 күн бұрын
I think the attention directed at him is partly what he doesn't enjoy anymore about the fight camps and cornering. In a russian interview Islam said Khabib wanted to join the camp for the last week of conditioning leg of their fight prep in the usual high altitude facility in Russia but once Islam informed him there were probably 500 people there currently (housed in the compound and training.. the place provides boarding for athletes too).. Khabib changed his mind and decided to not go there anymore. We can see in released footages of him cornering for his brothers, he does have that passion for coaching and wants to be there to support them. And even if he's not physically there his team knows for sure he's watching intently wherever he is at that moment.. even sending messages to their corner and reacting prompltly to the result of the match (much like his dad used to do back when he was head coach of team). So it's most likely not the coaching and competition that he dislikes.

In most sports, elite athletes don't tend to make elite coaches. My theory is that it's hard for them to coach people who don't have an elite skill level, because they can't relate to them as easily. In MLB, there's a huge proportion of successfull managers that were mediocre catchers in their playing career. It's because they're smart, they didn't survive in professional baseball by being really strong, or fast, or a great hitter, they survived because they knew the game from top to bottom, the fundamentals, the tiny nuances. Plus catchers tend to be the smartest and most level headed players, because pitchers are completely insane. Their job is to wrangle that insanity and turn it into performance. Catcher can't be crazy if the pitcher is also crazy.
