Chaff Flare Easy Way in F16 + ECM Jammer

Viper 1, Music On... The F16 is not the easiest module ever, and has seen a whole bunch of rapid updates in the last year, with countermeasures now totally useable - but how??
This video will show the easiest way to set yourself up with instant access to either Chaff OR Flares using 2 separate buttons, as well as the 2 quickest ways to use the ECM pod to jam enemy radar signals.
This is half tutorial, half use case, half walkthrough, giving a 150% useful video. Sometimes I will repeat myself, if you notice that, do forgive me, I want to make sure everyone has chance to follow along, some may not speak English as well, sometimes there's a bunch of buttons in a sequence so please bear with :-)

If I’m remembering correctly from a few sources, if you bind “cms right” that will do the opposite of “cms aft” so you won’t have to move the switch from operate to standby and then back to operate when you want the jammer to stop transmitting. cms aft gives consent to the jammer and cms right removes that consent.

There are 3 ecm settings. One allows radar use the other two don’t. It’s the three position switch beside the mode buttons that light up.

No bug mode 2 will use radar mode 1 just the pod mode 3 is barrage and trasmit always

Theres 2 types of SPL jamming (and also Barrage mode), one stops your radar from working but the other SPL doesnt ;)

What he said. Position 1 Radar Priority - doesnt jam your radar Position 2 - ECM Priority - Does Jam Radar Position 3 - Barrage mode

@@DurgonBoi It should not jam radar totally. It should be vice versa #1 (where both works but prio is on rdr, in #2 ecm has signal priority but. Kinda like in hornet while xmit still usually burns trough but just worse signal strenght in rdr.

Prog 5 and Chaff Dispense button is "the panic button", that's why it releases a lot of decyos. You have plenty other programs to edit, this should stay as a real "panic button" in case things go fubar

That's well true, although I made this for people like me that don't have lots of spare switches on the HOTAS to devote 10 buttons or so for the countermeasures. the CMS hat alone is 4, then to select the programs 1-6 and then the slapper could make potentially make 11. This I find too many. In the heat of battle, in 99% of cases, I want quick and easy access to Chaff (or) Flares. We've all seen themany times players chucking out Chaff+Flare in every situation, and I can only assume, especially at the competition level, they are doing this because they just have 1 button assigned for Countermeasures and aren't able to easily cycle between programs. hence this video, but I take your point and those with the big wingwing HOTAS's should probably avoid this and go with your advice

@@DCSDigitalCombatSimulator Yup. I bet 99% of ppl in hornet and in f-16 uses this samekind of trick (though in hornet its "fore and aft dispenser", but still kinda same thing there. (when other realeases alway prog #1 and other prog #5). If I were pilot myself IRL i would cry to my bosses that why in gods name there is just not flare button and chaff button STRAIGHT in my HOTAS. :) (on every plane that has flares and chaffs.) ;D
