Aung San Suu Kyi had become State Counsellor 6 months before and the Myanmar people were very hopeful and optimistic regarding change, freedom and new possibilities for the country. Me again. Great job you are doing! I was in Myanmar a year after you, in 2014. I was only in Mandalay, Bagan and in between. In new Bagan I was in a poorer part than what I saw in your video. Either they got better living conditions or we were in different parts. Before the trip, I went to a lecture here in Stockholm, Sweden. The lecturer had lived in Myanmar for quite a few years and was very knowledgeable. He believes that Myanmar will never become an orderly democracy. All militaries that exist now were born into a military state. Same with the ethnic groups, they too have been at war for generations. Is it just a civil war in the real sense? No, it's a war on drugs. Myanmar then exported the most drugs (opium, etc.) in the world. Then possibly Afghanistan took over, but now Myanmar is definitely number one again. So the war, or wars, will continue as long as the various ethnic groups, and the military, can profit from drug exports. In the cities, the people can live quite protected, as nothing is grown there.

Sir, I am not sure if you're still in Myanmar or not. but if you do I suggest keeping these footages safe and not get caught at the checkpoints. They are really trying to oppress the press fredom and there are hundreds of journalists in jails of Myanmar. A few of them being foreigners. Foreigners journalists often get freed after a few weeks but I still don't want you to face any difficulty. I nearly got arrested just because I was playing game with my phone on the express when it was stopping in checkpoints. They went through my phones, gallery and everything.

Inflation has always been a problem and 13 years ago they only accepted US$ in the limited places you could stay... I am not saying there is no war but you do seem to be dramatizing it a bit.
