I was there in 2002. Memories I will never forget. I have here above my desk a beautiful painting from an artist I met working outside a temple. The painting he was working on at the time was not quite done so he delivered it to my guesthouse the next morning. It is one of my real treasures. Thanks for bringing back the memory.

I feel so emotional when you gave 10,000 ks for a bell and didn't ask for change. I believe she would be happy too, and it can support her somehow. I also relocated to Thailand in March, leaving my mom and dad behind. It's very sad that not only are they facing the civil war due to the military coup, but also the rising inflation rate. We still don't know when this will end, and many Myanmar youth are losing their dreams and hope while being away from home. I miss my mom and home so much. I believe that PDF members fighting for the country miss their families too, but some cannot return. Hope that we all can return to home one day and reunion again.

Well, as I am from Myanmer, we got different kinds of dipping. This one is an ordinary dipping sauce(a-chin-yay (အချဉ်ရည်) in burmese ) to eat together with the Burmese Fritters named a-kyaw( အကြော်). We don't have the exact name for those dippings even though we have a lot. We just called them a-chin-yay(translation ; dipping sauce). X)
As a burmese from yangon, it deeply pains me to see our heritage like a barren waste of land, like no one has ever lived there. Bagan was literally the top travelling spot even for locals like us, regardless of the seasons or weather. It was lively, crowded, with nonstop flow of tourism. I enjoy videos like this because foreigners like him spending money on local merchants. It really means a lot to them I swear. For us, we are not travelling. We are running for our lives. I must make a remark as a burmese, this guy is very few of the luckiest out there who witnessed Bagan in its purest form, a secluded civilization of ancient buddhism. He gives out "a lone traveller with a camera exploring a lost city" kind of energy. Fun fact for you. Bagan in the sun is truly magestic. Everyone likes it. However, the experience even most of us rather not know is Bagan in the night, a shame if he missed it since he came from afar. If you ask what is special, spending the night in those same areas become eerily calm and deep shit scary at night. Because those watching our every step will not be criminals. They aren't even human.

@@Chai_Travel What he said was true. When I was at Bagan with fresh graduates to record for temples, we had a dancing under moonlight at night in one of the temple near our hotel. One small correction for Dhammayan Gyi in 31:00. The titantic structure symbolize the sins the king committed, hence the number of bricks are representing the amount of regrets for all his crimes. The size of Dhammayan Gyi is the physical manifestation of the king's sins and the temple symbolizes his act of atonement. There are five deep shit worst cardinal sins a man can ever commit and killing parents is one of them. Non-burmese viewers will need this context.

It's truly disheartening to see the Burmese military junta's lack of understanding and respect for maintaining historical heritage sites like Bagan. Their actions, such as painting, plastering, and gold painting, are causing irreversible damage to these ancient treasures. These sites are not only significant to Myanmar's history but also to the world, and such careless restoration efforts threaten to erase their historical and cultural value. BTW ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ to tourguide 💪
