Cambodia is generally considered very safe, but you should be aware that in case of a serious accident, stroke, heart attack, or any other medical emergency, you might not have enough time to get to a hospital in Thailand. In such situations, you could end up receiving treatment in a Cambodian hospital, where the healthcare quality may not be as good and often is really bad

Which neighbor would you advise not to go to Cambodia? There were only foreign tourists. They recommended it because they encountered many problems while entering Cambodia. The problem is that when petty theft occurs or the Cambodian police do not pay attention and never think about catching the culprit for tourists. Even after pointing out the culprit, he didn't care. Plus, filing a complaint would cost tens of dollars. Moreover, both Thailand and Vietnam have promoted teachers to travel to Cambodia. They don't need to be jealous or keep tourists in their own country. Because there's already a lot.

i believe there’s a few reasons why cambodia is over looked. government doesn’t pay for foreigners to live in the country and promote government doesn’t put much effort into the tourism advertising neighboring countries spreads false rumors detouring potential visitors into the country if i can be completely honest, i’m not mad at the number of tourists in the country. it’s not a bad number and increasing at a good rate. i prefer the idea of cambodia being a hidden gem while the citizens inside continues to prosper.

I lived in Asia 4.5 years. This was a decade ago. When I lived in Cambodia (1.5 years) there were a number of expats, mostly mid 30s, early 40s, who had graduated from years in Thailand. They settled in Cambodia. The entire was surging economically thanks to tourism, but COVID really hurt that drive. There are plenty of amazing cities in Cambodia and it is worth experiencing.
