My wife's family still lives in Vientiane and we visit every few years. It's very peaceful and most are friendly. When visiting you have to slow down and enjoy its much slower pace of life.

What do you mean? The economy is completely fucked up in this country xd Laos is in huge debt to China and inflation keeps going.

Nice work as always champ. Lets hope it and other videos are rewarded with better subbie support with views, thumbs up and comments. I am surprised that the numbers are fairly low especially the last video when you went out and about amongst it all where very few tourists venture. I thought that was brilliant, great viewing. 🤩

Thanks champ Steven, aw yeah let’s see how it goes. You loose some you win some ;p but a great experience it was regardless. For some reason my of the beaten track video never do so well in numbers of views so it’s okay. I’m sure there will be some bangers coming up again soon (just a matter of time and a bit of effort haha). Thanks again mate, I hope all goes well down under?!

@@Chai_Travel all good here mate. This last week the top temperatures are up from mid teens to twenty seven or so degrees so nature knows winter is gone and spring is upon us. Much better conditions for the daily walks. Don't worry if you miss replying mate. You've got plenty enough on your plate happening. I do the easy bit tuning in, watching and replying. 🤩

Chai, I went to Laos on my SE journey back in July and Laos was my first country to visit. I say Vientiane is cool and peaceful. Met some locals and foreigners that lived there made my experience better. I will always recommend people to come here. You should go to moonlight lounge nice little lounge and a great place to meet people to interview.

Ey mate, cool! Unfortunately I have to miss it as I’ve arrived back in Thailand again. Hopefully we’re able to go next time 😊 thanks!

Having lived in both Vientiane and Bangkok, I've found Vientiane to be a more enjoyable and affordable city. The cost of living is significantly lower, especially when it comes to social activities. The Lao people are incredibly welcoming, as long as you respect their customs and traditions. This simply means showing respect to authority figures, elders, and women. Avoid public displays of affection, anger, and inappropriate attire. While certain behaviors might be acceptable in in other countries, it's best to avoid them in public in Laos. Remember, Laos is a different culture, so patience and humility are key. Avoid coming to Laos solely for "casual relationships". Instead, enjoy the local culture, sort out your visa, or potentially settle down with a local. However, be aware that the marriage process can be complex. If you choose to settle with a local, be prepared to contribute to family responsibilities to some extent. The concepts of love and support/duty are one and the same here. Finally, when interacting with authorities, maintain a calm demeanor. Informal practices like gift-giving or treating officials to a meal can be helpful in maintaining positive relationships.

VERY interesting people you interviewed this time. I learned a lot. In Thailand people seem to eat like rabbits. In Cambodia the locals eat western food. What type of food do the Laos people eat?
@Chai_Travel17 күн бұрын
Haha thanks! Well, I think you maybe wrong about Thais and Cambodians 🤭 but if you say it like this than my answer will be instant noodle soup with chicken😅

Why would you title this AVOID The centre Of Vientiane??

Because the Dutch gent was saying; if you you’re not a tourist, avoid the Center. The title also includes that it’s about opinions. Apologies if you get offended by the title but I hope this video is making people wanna go to Vientiane rather than any else 🙏
