I appreciate your short film As Per My Knowledge, Sudras have high immunity power when compared to brahmins, Vysyas and kshatriyas. So they are microbial resistant. This is the reason they used to maintain distance. But britishers defined as caste discrimination. As per vedas, sudras are adihindus who protect villages and its people.
