This is very safety conscious and informative. Thanks and more people should know this.

Thanks, I wasn't sure where to poke into the last tube.

I went ahead and fused these two cakes together and bricked them together with duct tape and fired it off one night. Went up perfect. So I got twice the time for this effect, and just used one ematch.

mguerramd but how would that work though? Because if they're shooting wouldn't they be moving around and wouldn't it like maybe pull out because you got to think the power of some of those shots might move the cake around and might yanked the fuse out of the other cake wouldn't it?

Curtis Brown he used duct tape to brick them together. Put both cakes side by side so they are touching each other. Wrap duct tape around the both of them. They will not move.

If you are talking about running one chain fuse to all the cakes individual fuses, the timing is not at all predictable. This method I show gets the next cake to fire exactly after the preceding one finishes. I don't do this anymore now that I have a large number of Cobra modules and fire everything scripted with e-match.

Good video I've seen that done and the method of putting the fuse in the last tube. I think they used a piece of masking tape to hold the fuse in the tube so it didn't just blow out. Your method looks to be the more secure and reliable one of these two. I use straight boards and hot glue my cakes down. I've found that four to six cakes on a board work best, any more than that and the board becomes a pain to move around. I'll line the cakes so that the fuse is all on the same side, this usually works out. The cakes are hot glued to the board, the cake in front of it and the cake in back of it. Using regular visco fuse I start from the first cake and move to the last cake secure the fuse kind of tight so there isn't a lot of fuse between cakes. For me this has worked out pretty well time wise. It's not a guarantee as your method that the cakes won't overlap though.

i attached my fuse when it comes across to the last row. no pyropoke needed just taped it to where it hit the finale of the cake and it jumps to the next cake. ill try this method as well

That's much less reliable than inserting a fuse into the lift charge of a tube. Sometimes fuses don't ignite fuses even if they're zip tied super tight.

I did not mention to secure the connector fuse in to the first tube of the next cake with tape so it won't pull or fall out.

Why are you even running the fuse at the end of the first cake, into the first tube of the second cake? Why not simply connect the fuse at the end of that first cake, directly to the fuse of the second cake, securing it with zip ties? Now, I have never done this before, but I will be fusing together my first mortar rack for New Years 2019, so maybe I am missing something here.

What's the best type of tape to use when fusing?
@mguerramd5 жыл бұрын
Masking tape or clear packing tape both work. If you use masking tape put it on a dispenser! It’s WAY easier than trying to pick the free edge off the roll every time. A dispenser can literally save you hours of prep time. I have a video on this channel showing it.

I'm just an amateur and I'm wondering why a guy would want to go thru all that when he can just run a fuse?

what about f my 1st wick got pulled out? and just don't wanna toss the 500 gram cake? I have extra wick just never had this issue
@mguerramd7 жыл бұрын
You can replace the fuse easily enough.
@edub61457 жыл бұрын
how? do I just use the excess wick I bought? and put it in the missing wick whole or is there further construction involved???
@mguerramd7 жыл бұрын
E DuB take a piece of fuse of the correct speed for safety if you are hand lighting, put it in the hole and tape it down so it won't pull out

lmao tossing out a 500 gram cake because the fuse pulled out.. i'll make it easier for you, just give it to me.
