Are you prepared to cut into brand new Catamaran Deck to achieve the best result, well I am, and it may look like a drastic solution, but the result will be a functional, cosmetically appealing deck section that will be worth every bit of the considerable work it will take to complete it.
Boat building was never meant to be straight forward and thinking outside the box yields a much better boat in my opinion.

A little trick to decrease the hight of the pyramid of anchor chain (epecially with your 1200 mm wide achor locker) is to put a partition on one side. The first section of chain that is rarely used goes there to the side and reduces the amount of chain directly under where the anchor chain falls. The old fishos would use a 44 gallon drum to the side of the anchor well. Cheers

Ross, you absolutely made my day, when you were commenting about trying to keep the gel coat from going everywhere and then your hose or spray gun sprayed everywhere when you started it up I just about wet my pants laughing. You need to take all the boo boos and make a video when the boat is done. You are a natural born comedian and one of the funniest delightful people to listen to. You've become a master fiberglass man and your fore sight and willingness to work harder to make this boat something special amaze me every time I watch a new episode. We will have you in our thoughts and prayers that the water stops rising and you and your sweet wife don't have any damage. Stay safe God bless and remember to pace yourself.

Good episode Ross Can you still get at the chain to push it around whilst bringing up the anchor? We have a deeper chain locker and still have to use a pole with a plastic boat hook on the end to push the pyramid down.

Hoping you feel better Ross ! Chain locker looks just about like your photoshop design too... wondered if maybe the bottom of locker would benefit from some internal slope downward and to aft to shift chain pile aft as it lays or will hawse pipe do that for your design ?

I don't think you are nuts for improving the anchor hold. I thought you was nuts for cutting two very long slits down either side of the hull. I agreed with the reason to get the two hulls to marry up neat, and I knew that you wouldn't have done it-if it made a permanent weakness in the hull as you know your stuff with fibre glassing, but still it was hard to watch! Hope your home is ok. no one needs that grief.
