Sidenote, depending on the chain, it will perform much better in worse weather. If you use a chain that doesn't rust, it'll last longer than the polyester. Not to mention, the polyester can freeze and shrink. I love to play bball in the snow, but with fabric it just doesn't come all the way through, unlike chains.

Is the net designed to slow down the ball as it passes through the hoop? I bought my son a basket goal, the ball passes freely through the net, it doesn't slow down. I wonder if I should narrow the net somehow

@@TomyCroSound not really, the nets purpose is to basically see when the ball falls in the hoop. you can narrow it slightly but don't narrow it too much or else the ball can get stuck in the net.

Well, I played with both and the chain is better because is more durable, the nylon can be affected easily with sun and water. And for the problem you had with the chain net (when it came out), you only need to adjust it with wire clips, tweezers or any similar, in fact, in the public parks they are installed in that way.

To many people a net is a net and they’ll be under the impression that if a regular net can hang on so we’ll than a chain net should be just as good
