Utterly. Wonderful. Somehow these sculptures are hyper-realistic without looking exactly like the animal. Its an odd talent, in the best possible way, and perhaps the hallmark of an artist's soul, to render something that so elegantly captures the essences of the animal without being simply a 3-D rendering of it.

Really good I like how you did the claws and eyes did you just clear stain that because I noticed the plaque and I wouldn’t think you would stain or paint after that

Hi Randy, the plaque is the last thing to be added. I first add some colour with stains and a blowtorch for the black. Everything is sealed with a clear wood preservative.

Can I ask how is it possible that you are using the tip of your chainsaw and not getting kickback?
@sallyMaytree2 жыл бұрын
It can still kick but the small size of the bar and the type of chain reduced the kickback considerably. Technique also plays a big part.

@@sallyMaytree thank you very much, cause I wanna start chainsaw carving, but im kinda scared of kickbacks while doing details like face of the owl and stuff

@@danpalenik712 hold the saw close to you with a firm grip. (Never at arms length) Make sure your head and neck is not in alignment with the bar and chain and above all make sure the chain brake works. Relax and have fun with it. The special carvings bars and chains are much easier to manage. Nothing like a big forestry saw with a full chisel chain!
