Rayn Cook's video "Bear in a Tree Trunk" inspired me to use my chainsaw to carve a bear into a tree trunk in Finland.
On the cut side of the trunk, I draw the steps for the ears, eyes and nose with a felt pen.
The drawing is a tool to help you make the cuts in the right place.
With my Stihl chainsaw and a 40 cm sword, I cut the large pieces of wood from the trunk. Then I switch to a smaller sword that points forward. With it I can saw the correct proportions of the bear out of the trunk and the incisions for the bear skin.
In the end, I work on the bear's trademark nose with a Dremel brand mini grinder. I connected the grinder to an inverter that converts solar energy from a 12 volt battery into 220 volts.
Then comes the treatment with a bunsen burner.
Now the bear in the trunk is ready.
