@@Larry-hi1ri you didn't miss anything. This is super chain nerdy stuff measuring kerfs. When time allows I'll show the practical differences cutting with them and that will be the useful part

Hahhahah your been dragged into this now lol. We learn every day

The worse part is the 2 bars and the husky NK chain looks identical to the 058 so I'm going to run them on the wrong bar at some stage

@@SawChainTheories for myself we can read many posts and watch videos on the subject, but nothing beats experience. I guess for me the hobby has turned Into a bit of an obsession. But I am retired and every day is a Sunday so lots of time to experiment a bit

@ChainsawUsers I'm out of other new chains so can you take it from here. I want to see if that C85 / Hexa is actually narrower. Both are in line with EXL, bit narrower than RSLF but I don't have anything else to compare it with. Can't say I have ever measured them all before but see 3/8EXL so close in kerf to a 325NK is interesting. Always thought the it would be a bigger difference

I have 063 .325 chain that has a narrow kerf 4.1mm wide same as hexa I will grind a hexa profile in that chain and time base test it soon

You never know what chain manufacturers will do with their chains they dont really tell you anything only to say it cuts faster.
