Chainsaw Man (Denji) - Who Did It Better? SH Figuarts or Figma (Good Smile Company) チェンソーマン

At this point it is pretty much a battle of the ages. This time we’re going to be doing another “who did it better video.” Once again SH Figuarts is battling Figma to see who produced the best chainsaw, man figure and in my opinion this is a very decent battle. Of course, there is an evidence winner, but I am not someone who is going to determine that. I will completely leave it up to you guys to decide which one of these you like better. Personally, I enjoy both of these figures which is exactly why I knew I had to make this video. I wanted to compare both of them discussing every little detail that I could find while putting them up against one another. Chainsaw man is a very popular anime, and at this point, I am truly looking forward to what both of these companies will do in terms of making these figures. for the time being, I plan on picking up all of them just to see how they turn out. The chainsaws on the SHF look closer to how Fujimoto draws them while I think the figma is going off of the animation design.

The entire figures in general seem to go for their source material of choice design wise, though esthetically I'd say Figma did the anime dirty compared to how SHFiguarts adapted the manga design, especially when you compare how each company did Denji's face.

I don't have the figma, but WOW, the SHF blew my mind. Even after watching 4-5 reviews and EVERYONE said it was great I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near as good as it is. Literally blew my mind when I started playing with it. Much love man! Great vid

Just two notes: The Chainsaws on the SHF version are more accurate to the art. The Figma retails for 12,545 JPY, the SHF for 6,500 JPY. The Figma is just a little less than 500 yen short of being double the SHF's price, not 17 bucks. For that price difference, I'm going to expect it to come with more. Moreover, if the SHF Denji releases, has a similar amount of accessories or more, and is actually around the same price as the Chainsaw man version (the aforementioned 6,500 JPY), then based on retail prices in a vacuum, getting the two SHF will be just under 1000 yen more than getting the singular Figma. For that price, you would also get a second entire body with no need to swap out the pieces because you can just have both versions at the same time. Assuming this holds, it's an easy win for Bandai for me. **Assuming.** They could end up giving fewer accessories, or the price for their Denji might be higher. Time will tell, but I still think it's something to take into account when comparing these two figures.

Yeah shf has more depth in colors and a nice build on the body while figma prefers base colors and kinda leans on the cartoony side

the thing that kills it for me with figuarts is the lack of denji parts. Thats honestly unacceptable. the denji they showed off looks amazing but i hate that its a seperate figure. super lazy and greedy and totally not cool

The SH Figuarts costs 7k yen ($47), the figma 11.5k ($78). The figma is a lot more expensive and looks so much worse, don't really care about the accessories at that point lol

I wouldn't say that at all, Figma used to be way better and cheaper, their sculpts capturing that anime look and feel was a selling point of the company but this looks like a bootleg, it's even worse when you see what they did to Genji's face and compare it to SH Figuarts, Figma still does some pretty good figures from time to time but this one just ain't one of them.

Love ur vid bro. I have the katana man and ngl I had dilemma wether to buy katana or denji and I even asked the store owner which is the best as it is my first shf action figure and there the store owner said to pick katana as less people choose it. So watching this video really helpful as idk what Denji have and what he can do and also idek there's another variant of Denji which is super cool too! it quite difficult choice for me whether I should buy figma ( i like the power down denji with pochita) or SHF (without power down version and pochita) but aesthetically at last i bought SHF because of the blood paint effect...chainsaw man must be bloody and gory. but if SHF scale up the price for including the power down denji and pochita accessories, it would be perfect!

the shf is honestly better in every single possible way for me, even accessories i think can go to shf because when shf denji comes out you will have all the same accessories and a whole ass other figure for around the same price as the figma

I'll stand by this, and it's that shf has accessories where they count. they can all be put on the figure and utilized in some way, the wavy tie is sick and creates a dynamic illusion of movement, open mouth is a necessity so nothing to really say there, but what takes the cake for me is the chainsaw arm hands. just having them in one stagnant pose is a big oversight on the figma, they could've just included fists and I wouldn't complain, on their own they just don't look very energetic or ready to fuck shit up. pochita and the axe n stuff is cool but.. you ain't gonna display him with the axe, and pochita just kinda stands there. again, it's neat to have and I get why people might prefer that, but I also again believe shf gives you exactly what you need for a chainsaw man, no unnecessary bs edit : forgot about the stand, point for figma 😂 really good to have for a character like this

IDK if anyone mentioned this or if you’re into it but there’s a model kit, the SMP Chainsaw Man and Denji. It has the bum denji and chainsaw man and can interchange parts, pochita, decent amount of accessories, and is cheaper than both.

I was gonna get the Figma no matter what, so this is actually very convenient for me, because Figma Denji might actually drop in price because of the S.H.Figuarts, I've seen the same happen to their Marvel lineup where the Figma Avengers are pretty cheap most likely because of the alternatives.

great comparison, really helps that I'm looking to get one but here's my issue, and it's a big one: It's *Chainsaw Man* so they should look good but the silly toothpick spikes on the Figuarts is literally the only thing I don't like about it but it's a major bother to me. If they were like the Figma it'd be damn near perfect.

While the figma does come with the extra accessories I still think it’s not a good figure to buy. 1. The chainsaw parts look a bit goofy. The head doesn’t have the eyes and the chainsaw forearms are huge in comparison to the rest of the arm. 2. The denji head also looks goofy. The regular smiling face looks fine but the other two faces look goofy af. They don’t even look import quality, they look like if Mcfarlane toys made them. 3. Yeah he comes with a lot more accessories than the sh figuarts one but once sh figuarts comes out with their denji you’ll have a much bigger total of accessories. Figma most likely will never make another denji figure since they rarely make 2 figures for the same character.(I know you’d have to buy two figures with sh figuarts but you do end up getting more worth out of your money that way) So even with the advantage of having more accessories I still think it’s not even worth entertaining the thought of getting unless you’re planning to sell it afterwards. Sh figuarts is coming out with their version, which already looks better, sooner or later and while most likely come with double the accessories this one has(minus chainsaw parts tho). I respect your opinion since some people probably don’t even care about stuff like this, they just wanna get an all in one package, but I still think to get your moneys worth you’d be better off staying away from the figma chainsaw man figures for a while.

SHF is probably the better figure, but figma has a lot more to offer and I don’t have to spend over $200 for both base denji and chainsaw denji so I’m going with figma for this one

The figuarts costs $47 retail and the Figma costs $78. The Figuarts Denji powered down will probably cost the same as the CSM, so it's really only a $16 difference between 1 figma and 2 figuarts. That way you could display both with figuarts. Plus figuarts are better overall figures anyways, so it seems way more worth it to me
