Sh figuarts just destroys it Ngl. The faces on this look horrible except for the regular smiling face. Not having any angry faces also ruins it a bit imo. Paint job looks great but the sculpt just ain’t it, too lanky and the articulation cuts are terrible. The one figma release might come with more stuff than the chainsaw man figure we have right now but I am sure the sh figuarts denji figure will come with 5 or more faces, pochita, his axe, the string, and some other accessories. So overall while you’re going to be paying more for both sh figuarts chainsaw man and denji you’ll end up having more than if you had bought the figma version. The figma is an alright figure but ultimately it has too many problems that just aren’t present in the sh figuarts version. Sh figuarts take the dub here once again.

Personally I’m glad SHF is making a standalone Denji figure because I want both for display. I can’t justify dropping the figma price point just for Denji. Also for a nice hack if you have the SHF and want a good Pochita, the nendoroid has a solid one scale wise. Figma might get me on Aki if SHF drag their feet on him.

The Figma is also twice the price of the SHF if not a bit over that. :p If the Denji SHF comes with the same amount of accessories when it releases and is the same price as the SHF, getting the two SHF together will technically be a bit cheaper (y'know, ignoring the fact that they had to be shipped and imported separately), than the one Figma. And it also comes with a bonus body in that sense, because now you have two of them and you don't need to keep swapping heads every time you feel like changing the looks.

As someone who has painstakingly drawn chainsaw man a lot, the shf captures the details and angles of csm's head way better. I have my own shf denji figure and the brighter orange fits with the vibrant colors of the manga covers. IMO neither figma or shf did the teeth well, but figmas teeth are cleaner. SHF head sculpt still takes it for me tho, especially compared to figmas open mouth head.

Figma always makes more accessories. But on the overall figures themselves, they really don’t hit the likeness right compared to other brands like shf.

the SHF Denji was on display not to long ago and he does come with a pochita. the figma might have better accesories but its a hard pass for me as the figure looks god awful.

Only reason I got this figure was to have him stay in his Normal Denji form, while the SHF is the Chainsaw Man. Im aware SHF is making a normal Denji, not sure if ill pick it up tho. Would rather see them or figma tackle Makima, Kishibe, or more Hybrids.

Great review! My figma Denji arrived yesterday, but I haven’t had a chance to open the box yet. I decided to go with figma due to all of the options and accessories , especially Denji coming with Pochita and Power coming with Meowy. Knowing that Aki was coming from figma didn’t hurt either. However, I’m seeing a strong preference for the SHF version both in the comments here and elsewhere, and it’s piqued my curiosity. I just ordered SHF Power on Amazon this morning since the figma version has been delayed until Oct, and I’ll probably circle back for Denji tomorrow. Everyone is going to have their own preferences between the two companies, but how cool is it that we have options? I wish it was like that with toy licensees here in the states, especially Marvel and DC.

Not a fan of figma version. Joins and body parts fall off way to easy. Tongue face for his chainsaw head doesn’t stay off and he’s very hard to pose in the chainsaw form. Could just be me I think I’ll get the other brand for that version

Figma highly fails because of the prices… around 100+ euro’s for real?? And figuarts around 40 a 60 euro’s Just like Jujutsu Kaisen also Its a big difference and i wil never buy figma for those prices 😅 i hope Figuarts wil make some figures of Demon Slayer tho 🙈

I don’t even think it’s a competition. Shf completely obliterated the figma. The sculpt on the shf is just leagues better. It’s so much more sharp and the articulation doesn’t break up the sculpt as strangely as the figma does

To be honest I'd rather get the SHF Chainsaw Man and upcoming Denji. Those two combined are even cheaper than the Figma. I really hate the fact that the chainsaw arms are stuck in one orientation and you only get one handoption for those. SHF ABSOLUTELY destroys the Figma.

The more I look at figma denji/chainsaw man it looks horrible horrible🤢 like WTF the hands are tiny the body is all broken apart the head is too small AAND the faces looks nothing like denji at all. the chainsaws looks too skinny the only good part is the shining other than that TAMASHII DEFINITELY DESTROYS FIGMA

One thing that grinds my gears is that prototypes of figures are shown and then cast off into the void. I keep bringing it up cuz it hurts so badly, the SHF Faye valentine from cowboy bebop, we never got a whole bebop crew and Faye looked so good. Also real folk blues/ final coat spike prototype was shown and then sent off into the abyss, all for seemingly putting vicious in so early into the line and nobody wanted him. SHF Spike sells for hundreds now but vicious is begging to be taken away from stores. Several stores in my area have stacks of vicious constantly on sale but no one is buying them. It’s a real shame and I hope that won’t be the case for katana man and impeding on us getting Aki and violence or kobeni.

This is the reason I stopped collecting Figmas. The accessories are nice but most of it just ends up in a bag once the figure is on the shelf for display. I like how SHF separated Denji from the Chainsaw Man release because I would definitely like to display both forms with having bags of unused accessories. Plus, separating his human form leaves a lot of room in the box for more face options.

It's actually kinda smart on Bandai's part. If you just want a normal Denji, grab the upcoming figure, but if you just want his Chainsaw Man form displayed there's also the already existing one. Rather than having a bag full of accessories, you can just get either or both.

Tbh I wanted to cancel my pre order for denji but I was going to be a hassle and expected denji to be way worse due to the promotional images but honestly when I got it in had its pretty good, I'm still getting shf Denji too mainly due to the colours from what I noticed is that Figma Denji is based on the anime and not the manga but shf is more like the manga with the brighter colours with shf style of the model. But I still think figma did a good job and I agree with all the issues you had

That is correct. Figma is based on the Anime while SHF is based on the Manga. The same goes for Jujutsu Kaisen and a few other lines.

Looks like you need to make compromises whichever one you get. SHF looks better, but honestly, I really feel like they're being greedy by spinning out two figures, when they could easily had made one. And still had an extra Denji with Pochita, a few more faceplates and I'd have felt better about buying both. Figma has the accessories right, but the look isn't quite there (although it's not *bad*) and those gaps are pretty ugly. At this point I'm starting to think the nendoroid Denji is actually the best 😂

Let's be honest, we'll only display him in either his human form or chainsaw man form once put on display, especially with how fragile Figmas are, we'll never be playing around with it anyway. SHF giving people options to choose either or both forms for a relatively cheaper price, is something to appreciate.

@@gabdlc_ If the SHF was cheaper than a regular SHF, I'd be agreeing with you, but it's not, and it has less accessories than a lot of other SHF figures. Compare it with the JJK0 figures for instance. I don't think one Denji head and a couple powered down arms was too much to ask tbh. Also, if this figure is at least as solid as Figma Gojo, I'd be swapping accessories and posing a lot. I know some Figmas are for sure fragile though, I never mess with my Levi now I have him in a pose I like. Too frustrating.

Only real issue I had that made me stay away from this figure is that it looks like a 2013 figure. P.S finished the entire video just now I was wondering where the chainsaw part was gonna come in but didn’t until the height comparison. Figma looks almost identical to the manga whereas SHF looks closer to the anime. In terms of the sculpt I like figma more because it looks so accurate. In terms of aesthetic I’d have to give it to SHF which just gave off so much more character than figma which I like, it looks weird and colourful and chainsaw man the series is a weird, gory and colourful series. THOUGH since figma came out, figma denji is overall a better figure, really good torso articulation and comes with both denji and his powered up form making him more valuable than SHF, he’s also cheaper in that regard too. I also live in Canada so both figures are over $100, and honestly this is the first ever time where I actually prefer figma. Though I do still stand by it base denji figma looks very dated but thank goodness he comes with his powered up form which basically won it over for me
