I still think it’s crazy people didn’t like Makima’s VA in the anime. I thought it was actually perfect for the character that she is. The soft, calm voice contrasts so well with her eerie all knowing presence.

I think power needs a different va direction In the manga she felt like an adult woman who was childish But this va was told to sound childlike and higher pitched so its like a child raising their voice a bit

I have that same issue with Makima, she obviously looks and acts older and dignified, and yet she has this childlish voice that really throws me off. And yeah I get how her controlling nature could be the reason to use such a voice to groom Denji and everyone else etc. etc. but I really hope she changes the tone, shows her true self during some darker scenes in the later seasons. Don't have that problem with Power tho. She does speak in this middle-english way, but she is a goofy devil and her host's body she possessed is of a teenage girl so it feels fine to me. She just feels like a devil who's out of time.
