How to test and replace a bad chain oiler on a newer chainsaw.

The tools are really cheap, best to buy them if you use chain saws Piston stops are cheap and clutch tools are too 😊

It's a bad design because when the engine is running the oil is being pumped and making a mess. Better saws pump oil only when the chain is moving.

I believe it was an 18" but was a customer saw so unfortunately I dont have it anymore.

Most are 3/8,50,62 chain 18 inch

Hi , I have smacked the clutch a number of times with the rope inserted with no luck in loosing. Any suggestions? heat ? Thx jim

Makes sure you're turning in the correct direction. It is likely left hand threaded so needs to come off clockwise.

what do you do if too much oil keeps coming out and saturates the bar and chain ?

@@christopherlabarge6364 I believe so yes. I think they have an internal check valve function to prevent oil from leaking out.

I did exactly as the video showed. I removed the sparkplug put a rope in the cylinder. I hit it I ht it till I started wondering if any one had this problem, and what did you do to loosen retainer
