The ProLine tach is where its at. Identical to the Stihl, but has a quarter-second refresh rate, auto-off, max rpm, and works with all 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines. Oh, yeah, and its $40

After my own research I bought the tiny tach. For pretty much the same reasons mentioned. No way was I paying for one that you couldnt replace the battery. No way was I paying a premium to have stihl, echo or husqvarna stamped on basically a throw away tach. The only complaint I have with my tiny tach is the button seems to be sticky. I found that it isnt the actual button but rather the cover. I opened it up and noticed that. I havent really looked into how to solve that yet but I figure it shouldnt be that difficult. Good review and I agree.

Thanks for the review. I would like to see a review about which tach is the best based on function without the price being a factor. Then it would be about if I can afford it or not. In the case of these tachs $35.00 (from lowest to highest) would not even make a difference in my decision. If I spend $60.00 on one I eventually have to replace (probably at a higher future cost) Then the one with replaceable batteries is more economical.

Are any of these waterproof? I installed one once on a generator and the first rain wiped it out.

I have a TT-20K... fast response and refresh rate. Larger sensitivity range and replaceable 9v battery. So the TT Fast Tach would be my pick hands down. For one, I'm not spending $60-$85 on a throw-away tach when I can add a few extra bucks and buy one with a replaceable battery. Buy once, cry once.

I just ordered the TT Fast Tach from the mfr. for $85 plus USPS least expensive shipping at cost.

I just bought the Harbor Freight Send tech tackle M 666 32. Comes with some tape. I'm trying to dial in my chainsaw on top just might work. I think in order to make it work I have to put the tape on the chainsaw blade and pay get try to get a read. I definitely like the Stihl but I bought the Harbor Freight out of convenience. Let's see what happens. 🤷🏻♂️

I just received my Fast Tach in the Mail sadly I am NOT impressed. It does not cycle through all the settings and is very cheaply made for the cost. The ON button you have to dang near step on to get it to turn on.
