I'm pretty sure if somebody made a Kickstarter game called Chainsaw Warrior with that art on the box it would make 8 million dollars.

The sheer distress when you lost your chainsword made me LMAO. It's always interesting to see how much stuff GW made. I have never heard of this game before.

This video set something off deep inside me about a year ago when this was video was released. You opened up a GW world pre my hobby days (started with WH Fantasy about 20 years ago). I now have a huge collection of GW Boardgames throughout the 80s and 90s. Thanks a lot. I’ll be sending you the bill.

Apparently, there was a _fourth_ Chainsaw Warrior miniature (a variant sculpt of the blaster + chainsaw model), made for the Talisman game's "Timescape" expansion. This being the same expansion that also included a Space Marine, Servitor-esque cyborg, and an Astropath, among other models from throughout time and space. Between this and all the stuff about Chaos cultists in Chainsaw Warrior, and it leads plenty of people to theorize that Chainsaw Warrior takes place in the 40K universe, albeit possibly at some point in the past.

Wow. Nostalgia overload. The Chainsaw Warrior models were the first ones I bought from GW. They're probably still in my parents' house somewhere, painted with Humbrol oil based paints...

'Steve' seems suspiciously similar to Doom Guy, half a decade before Doom. I have a very vague memory of friend bringing this to school and playing it on an end-of-term game day.

Yeah, it's a REALLY similar setup to Doom. Zombie tower block and all.

GW have never been shy about appropriating other franchises ideas or concepts. Chainsaw warrior is essentially Duke Nuke'em Does Doom, in the same way space hulk was just Aliens does... Well. Aliens. Unfortunate for a company that built it's name on this sort of behaviour, who is now so quick to punish others for doing the same.

Gruss Ralf But fun, fun, fun.....

Cool video. It looks like you might have had some of the extra cards published in White Dwarf, but not the extended rules from the same issue. The minis were reissued as 40k adventurers a couple of years later. The planned sequel never appeared unfortunately and the computer game sequel is ok but the story unrelated.

Had the game on Steam from one of those old bundled and this prompted me to give it a shot. Either the game has some wonky RNG, or I just wasted a lifetime's worth of luck on my first attempt at the game, because my dice rolls were so good that if this had been a tournament I would probably have been accused of cheating. I think I got hit twice during my entire run, and defeated the big bad boss at the end.
