Another great vid! It's a song about a 15 year old girl's first metal show and how excited she is to go see the band.
@RaginKavu4 жыл бұрын
The lyrics are about a girl going to her first metal concert. Unfortunately isn't autobiographical, as they were younger than 15 when it was recorded. But on Su' s 15th birthday she sung it, with a different mix, to celebrate. On Moa's and Yui's 15th, Su passed the mic to them, to sing the whole last part. Then, on Su's 20th birthday, she sung it again, but changed the lyrics from "night of 15" to "night of 20". So did Moa, or hers 20th. She also sung it too.
@DeePal0725 жыл бұрын
In this performance there is a small mistake, made probably by Yui at 8:44, you can hear a single "HEADABANG" that's not supposed to be (the chorus should stop before the drum begins), it's cool because so many think that the girls lip sync, this (among other episodes) pretty much proves otherwise.

As I am sure others will and have said Headbangerrrrrrrr was a mainstay for concerts for many years. However in the recent shows this year they have not done it (mostly it is the new album stuff and a few classics - KARATE, Road of Resistance, etc). This is a coming of age song (15yo girl going to her first concert). It has a special place in BM history. When both Yui and Moa turned 15 on the concert nearest their birthday Su passd the mic across and they got to sing lead. This was repeated for the only 2019 performances of Headbangerrrrrr at the two concerts in July in Nagoya, Japan (Moa's home town) which was a special concert called Legend M for Moa's 20th birthday (in Japan an adult is legally defined as one who is 20 or over). Moa again got passed the mic and the roar of the crowd is amazing when they realise this...

It's gonna be 3:00 am your time (Arizona). But their festival appearance at Summer Sonic 2019 will be broadcast live on KZbin this Saturday Aug 17 starting 19:00 Tokyo time. It's most likely just a short peak into it because the broadcast will be covering other artists' stages as well. But if you are curious, search "summer sonic" to find their broadcast channel. It might at least give you a sense of what you will see in the concert you are going to.

I read about this. Thanks! Do you think there's a chance of it getting delayed or cancelled due to the typhoon? I heard they are currently rebuilding the stage as quickly as possible.
@zuboracko5 жыл бұрын
@@BJSheldon The typhoon is no longer near Tokyo right now although the wind was pretty strong here because of it throughout the day today. Besides, the venue they will be performing tomorrow (Aug 17) is an indoor stage, which won't be affected by the weather anyway. This by the way wasn't the case for the Osaka open-air stage (of the same Summer Sonic festival) today which was affected pretty badly by the typhoon causing a 4 hour delay and resulting in the cancellation of more than a few bands from that stage.

I would suggest Rondo Of Nightmare (Mischief Of Gods intro) next as this features solos by ALL the band and then a solo by Su. Or as a total change (more power ballard but shows her vocal skills) No Rain, No Rainbow from the Legend S concert - this was Su's 20th birthday and a special concert for her.

Yes they still do this song. They did it at Summer Sonic in tokyo and for Legend M where Su gave Moa the lead at the middle of the song for her 20th birthday. Yes the guitarist on the left behind Su was the one that passed away and he had been with them from the beginning of having a live band. He even mentored the other guitarist and taught Moa and Yui some guitar.

Headbanger hasn't been played on recent overseas tours, but it was played at the recent "Legend M" concerts celebrating Moametal's 20th birthday in her home city of Nagoya. Halfway through the song, Su handed Moa the mic and Moa took over lead vocal duties. (They did the same thing back in 2014 for Yui's and Moa's 15th birthdays.) Will they play it on the upcoming US tour? I would say it's unlikely but certainly not impossible.

Hey BJ! Another great reaction! "Headbanger!" is about a girl going to her first metal show on her 15th birthday. It's a really special song because on Yui and Moa's birthdays Su will actually pass the mic off to the birthday girl and let her sing the lead, and it's the only time this happens. Unfortunately this song doesn't get much play live anymore, but we can hope! Mikio Fujioka is in this video, he's on the left side of the stage playing the black guitar. All the Kami Band members know each other and a lot of them play together outside of BABYMETAL. Takayoshi Ohmura is the guitarist on the right side of the stage, and he organized a benefit show and a couple concert video releases to help Mikio's family.

The last time they did this song was recently for MOA-METAL's 20th birthday concert. She got to hold the mic stand and sing the second half of the song. DUDE, LOOK AT THAT PACKED ARENA. Look how the ENTIRE mass of humanity in attendance is jumping & shouting along with the song. Here are these 3 teen girls, and the Mighty Kami Band just totally rocking the joint! Totally blowing the roof off that Japanese Arena. Then there's Su Metal's epic "HEADOBANGAAAAAA!!!" yells. And in addition: Stare of the Kawaii Metal Queen: Su-Metal when she holds up the mic so the entire arena can be heard yelling back. (Come on man, that's too much awesomeness right there!). I totally envy those who got to attend the Makuhari Messe show. I give thanks to KZbin for letting us mortals to witness this awesomeness we were oblivious to long ago. IT WAS GREAT to hear you state how the band members can become FAMILY over time. Indeed a tragedy for the girls & other members with the passing of their guitarist Mikio. A really good one to do next is the live performance of RONDO OF NIGHTMARE w/ Mischiefs of Gods intro (Bodukan-black night). You get knarly solo jams by each member of the Kami Band, then Su-Metal shows up and hits a grand-slam with her vocals.

Just an fyi. The band does not actually rotate very much. They have had the same drummer and bassist for 90 percent of their shows over the last 4 years. They generally have only 3 guitarists that rotate till fill the 2 spots on an availability basis. As far as we can tell the band is friendly with the girls. You can see fairly often Moa will interact with the drummer making silly faces at each other (Su and Moa do this with each other a lot as well).

Headbanger from Red Night at Budokan would make you cry. Yui falls off the stage at that show during Headbanger, Su and Moa finish the song. You can see Moa fighting back tears while they finish the song. When Yui does come back for IDZ then Moa falls while running around the outer stage, but she stayed on the stage and finishes the show. I do not think these are on KZbin, you may have to watch the DVD to see them. See you at the show in October.

Nice reaction again! Thought I should touch on the Kami band a little bit just to clarify some of the significance of Fujioka Mikio and his passing. While it's true that they rotate members based on availability, they do have an A-team so to speak, the musicians who are the top picks and have performed the vast majority of their live gigs, this for example includes the drummer who you appreciate so much, Aoyama Hideki. Mikio was also part of these top picks and was considered the lead guitarist with his own unique, defining sound. I could go on and on about this so I'll keep at at that for now. Feel free to ask if you'd like to know more background about them though :)

The name of the band "Babymetal" (Bebimetaru) comes from the words "baby" (beibi) and "heavy metal" (hebi metaru). The correct pronunciation rhymes with "heavy metal", i.e. no emphasis on the first a as in "baby". However, the band do not strictly enforce this, and most native English speakers still pronounce the name as baby metal.

This song is very rarely played anymore, it's kind of a "birthday celebrating" song. Lately it was only played for Su 20th and Moa 20th anniversary. I was lucky enough to be present at legend M concert this summer where Moa sang it. I could film the crucial part of this moment if you want to see what it looks like from the crowd point of view : kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6ayfp1ur7KHna8 . So it's very unlickely you will able to see it in the US tour, but there is plenty of other great songs to see dont worry.

BJ Sheldon Here’s another angle, from close to the stage, showing Moa taking over from Su and it’s the entire song. It also shows one of the three new girls, Kano Fujihira. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2Xaaoqcfb-hqq8

Another enjoyable reaction. This is a nice, heavy song from the first album "BABYMETAL". I feel this song somewhat underrated. I always enjoyed listening to it. It would be great if they play it on this upcoming tour. However, it's unlikely because this tour is to promote their new album so I'd expect a good number of songs from it. Songs that are seemingly in any and every concert they do are basically Megitsune, Gimme Chocolate, Karate, and Road of Resistance. Comments by others pretty summarize what the song means. If you get the chance, you may enjoy checking out their music video for this song. It's pretty trippy. Drummer Hideki Aoyama is downright awesome. He seems to have tireless energy and injects an extra charge into every song. Also a deft soloist in future songs you'll eventually get to. Keep up the good work!

Didn't they have to carry off Aoyama off the stage for exhaustion after one of the Tokyo Dome shows ... can someone confirm? They ask quite a lot from that dude and he delivers...

As you know, this song is about 15 years old girl going to her first concert. Yui Metal and Moa Metal sang this song when they turn 15 years old during live performances. Su Metal change the lyrics from 15 to 20, when she turn 20 years old. Finally Moa Metal sang this when she turn 20 years old (2019) at her hometown of Nagoya. vimeo.com/365503288

Unlikely to perform this one just because there is so much new stuff now. No song is ever fully retired.

Another great reaction ^^ I must repeat myself thou in asking that you react to 'Rondo of Nightmare' (with Mischief of the Gods intro) Live. Also maybe to some live version ('Megitsune' comes to mind) from the Red Night / Black Night concert in Japan cause that IMO was the absolute peak (production, stage coreography) of the "old" Babymetal (with Yui). Last but absolutely not least I'd like to suggest 'No Rain No Rainbow' (the live version from Legend S Blue Ray is the best IMHO - kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnXKoqJsm8ifn7s ); this song will REALLY make you cry ^^

BJ Sheldon niceeee ^^ Honestly I like your BM reaction no matter the song (cause most times I can 100% relate with my first experience) - it’s just that, as many others I’m sure, we wanna see you react to all the very best/iconic moments ^^ I hope all this requests won’t come down the wrong way - ultimately we wanna see you enjoy BM to re-live that feelings again trough you (if thai makes sense)

Thought from your first reaction you would be part of the One . Definitely by Road of Resistance .so welcome to the One and great reaction. Megitsune is a good one next . They opened with it at Brixton academy in July so good chance they will do it in your concert . As being said in earlier comments Megitsune live at Budokan Red Night is great performance. Also Yui is allways in performances untill legend S december 2017 easiest way to remember if she is performing . 🤘😁🤘

Catch me if you can is a great song that mixes the ultra heavy with melodic pop. The One is also another power ballad.

There are only 2 sold and 1 coming albums so you don’t have many things to remember or prepared for their live.

I’m surprised they didn’t recommend the version where they crucified Su. ;) Unfortunately, they don’t play this song as often as they used to at shows. But who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky! Oh, and don’t worry about trying to fit in. The crowd at a show (or at least the one I went to) is really diverse. Guys, girls, young, old... you’ll fit in no matter what.
