Baby Metal is what the music scene has been awaiting and longing for, for at least 2 decades! The music mastery is beyond words to do them justice. As for why you were crying... Try because their music and performance is just that beautiful!
Welcome to The One! You're officially one of us now and part of the family; you're officially a "Kitsune"! You, obviously, 'get it'! ;-) We've all been there: the energy, the admiration for the girls.... that first tear when watching BABYMETAL... :-) And it won't be the last tears, I promise you. And that's why BABYMETAL fans love watching other people discover that magic: it's wonderful to see that 'click' happening in someone else's brain, experiencing the power, the talent, the happiness and the love that is BABYMETAL..... and to, vicariously, experience that again. Most of the time the road there takes a bit longer, from "WTF?!", to "this is interesting..!", to "this is amazing!", but we love to see that path of discovery. And I'm positive that I can speak for every other Kitsune who watches your BABYMETAL reactions: we're looking forward to seeing you go down that path and we'll accompany and help you on every step! "Always on your side! We are The One! We are BABYMETAL! Kitsune up!"
"What is happening in the crowd?" - That, my dear, is a mosh pit. Babymetal pits are friendly, so don't worry too much about your hips. ;-) "Where do they get the energy?" - Only the fox god knows. ;-) "Their fans love them, don't they?" - Yep. Yep, we do. "How can those girls dance like that and then sing on key?" - They're athletes. I can't put it any better. "You guys are amazing." - Thanks. But actually, it's spelled like this now: You are guys amazing! (You'll know why once you saw the Wembley show.) ;-)

Yes... You get to see them LIVE!! Their headline sets are usually 90 minutes at that energy level. Su is a World Class soprano... she nails it every time. I've seen them 5 times in the US, and it's the most diverse fan base I've ever been among. One thing I really enjoyed was seeing fathers having a band that they could share the Metal experience of their youth, with their daughters. When I saw them at the Hammerstein in NYC 2014, the people next to me were a Father with his 11 year old daughter. To quote them, "It's the first thing we've done together where we both want to be here, and we don't know which of us is more excited." The stage set for your show will probably be minimal, but all you need are the performers. They will be doing their full production stage show here in L.A. at the Forum. They will be the 1st Japanese band to headline the venue in over 30 years.

It comes naturally. Their childlike acting, their adorable smilings during their shows, like when they walk along the stage way in this live performance... truely adorable smiling, and the innocence in their voices create that extremely overprotective feeling within you. Like you want to protect your own babychild from the harms of the sad reality of our world, that makes your eyes water. That feel is what drags you into their performances. At least, that is how BM works for me. And I am even not a metal head at all, just occasionally listening to some heavier stuff.

"WE ARE - BABYMETAL!!!" That reaction was even better than your reaction for Karate. Talking about their energy - this was the show finale, they had been singing and dancing flat out for over an hour already. You're not the first reactor to shed a tear with Babymetal - although you are possibly the first to do it with Road of Resistance. The song that forces out most tears is 'The One'. The girls had seen how foreign fans were learning Japanese just to sing along with them at their shows around the world, so they challenged themselves to learn a song entirely in English as a thank you, to show their appreciation of their fans and as a sort of love letter to them. You could go easy on yourself and react to the official video - that is in half and half Japanese and English but at live shows ever since they always sing it all in English ... and most recently the first half is virtually a capella or "unfinished" (just piano and maybe violin accompaniment). Versions that bring most tears are the 19 minute video (these can be found on Dailymotion) of 'Tales of the Destinies' (a prog rock song praised by Mike Portnoy formerly of Dream Theater, this is the only time it has been played live) and 'The One', two songs were written together and played one after the other to close the first of their two nights at Tokyo Dome in front of 55,000 fans all wearing neck braces that lit up. The other is the half "unfinished" version from Legend S (Su-metal's 20th birthday shows) in Hiroshima.

Great emotional reaction! I am one of those mid 50's metal heads that instantly fell in love with BabyMetal. To me, a lot of what drives the emotion in these reactions is that people who love metal music are hit by a tidal wave of "fresh air." Hearing and seeing something so new and fresh in a genre that you love, but that has been on life support for decades now, just brings in a rush of emotions. That is compounded by the fact that it is being done by three teenage girls, and they are mixing genres that are NOT supposed to go together.....but it totally works. We can thank Japan for that. Musically, Japan has always been known as a kinda "wheels off" place. All the normal rules don't apply. With that in mind....here is a suggestion for something every bit as glorious as Baby Metal.......the all girl Japanese rock band called "Band Maid." I can guarantee you will fall in love and you will cry. They may be the best thing out there today.

And that was after the show had went on for well over an hour! BABYMETAL makes a sound that is best described as joy. Like Richard Townsend below (Kitsune up!), I am a 54 year old metal musician and songwriter, and I have been playing in working bands for over 40 years, I am a Ol' salty Dog from Miami Fl and I was already crying way before you started to when I watched this video. Honestly I was choking up hard, bawling, runny nose, and it 's pretty much like that every damn time I watch BABYMETAL, it doesn't even matter how many times I have seen the video before. It's just ridiculous. I loved that they moved you too, right from the start, just like to Karate the other night. (when i first visited your channel and subscribed!). A lot of people just cant seem to wrap their head around this band right away. It is interesting that most reactors have to be about three songs in before it clicks for them, but it almost always does. You "got it" right away and I am certain that means something beautiful about your soul! The song writing, the musicians, the choreography, the stages, lighting, crowds, backstory, history. Everything about this act is next level. They literally invented their very own genera and have made it one of the fastest growing generas in the World today, and they were well on their way to achieving it all before their 16th Birthdays had passed. You're just two steps into the Foxhole, just wait, its just a taste of what lays ahead! Welcome to The One! Kitsune up!

They make me cry like a kid fairly regularly! God help me if they focus on Mikio (RIP), I'm a blubbering mess! BJ, Miko Fujioka was a guitarist in the Kami Band. He was a virtuoso on the guitar like no other. He was a guitar instructor at Musicians Institute of Tokyo, and was the guitar teacher of Takayoshi Ohmura, one of the other Kami Band members. He was an avid amateur astronomer. He was stargazing on a high observation platform New Year's eve 2017 when he fell off. He died in the hospital about a week or so later. This was so devastating, but the band pushed through a rough year (Yui Mizono left also due to health issues ), and they came back stronger than ever!

"Do I get to see that live?" Yup. You did. And I was in the same crowd with you as we watched Su, Moa, and Momoko completely slay. I'm a man a touch younger than you, and tears welled in my eyes hearing that last note on RoR. They are so special

WHen I was at their concert recently here I noticed that the age range easily was from 15-60+....It baffles me still how wide their range is but I totally understand it at the same time :D

Majority of people do Babymetal reactions because it is easy to get viewers. However, you are even going to the concert, A TRUE FUN ! コンサート楽しんでください ( have fun in the concert ) greeting from Japan.

Indeed, us, BABYMETAL addicts, trawl KZbin looking for reaction videos... I must've seen this RoR version over a hundred times just in reaction videos... can't help it, but it is the best drug!

Oh, you speak Japanese, lovely. I sure there will be some die-hard Japanese funs all the way from Japan AS ALWAYS. Hopefully, you will make some friends over there (^。^)

0:30 Yes, I know exactly how you feel! I was excited at 15, in 1976, when I saw Sabbath live, same at 18 when I saw Led Zeppelin, and very excited now, at 58, to be among the lucky ones who will see them in Cardiff, Wales, UK in Feb 2020. Love that when Queen SuMetal demands that 50,000 hardcore Metal fans scream their band's name at the end, they obey!

You would be more surprised by the fact that this song was played as the closing song of their 90-minute show. This show was in 2015, the main singer was just 17 years old and the other two were 15, now they are 4 years older, much better and matured than those days. You don't have to worry about your age, I'm a 48-year-old thrasher who'd been to the first Japan tour of Metallica in '86, and moreover, as BABYMETAL sings in their other anthem, THE ONE, we are the one when we are standing in the circle pit side by side.

What a great reaction. All I can say is, welcome to the ONE, and enjoy your journey down the Fox hole. You have a beautiful soul. As far as reactions are concearned, I have seen so many suggestions already from my fellow fans/family in this comment section, I couldn´t possibly suggest any better myself. I just hope you keep reacting to them, as they are truly the most special band on the planet, judging from this emotional and truthful reaction, I am sure you are starting to see that for yourself. Put your KITSUNE UP!

Many of us share that feeling. Chills, tears. I think those feelings and the broad range in age of fans is the fact that the merging of the music styles and choreography has been missing in hard rock and metal music for a long time. A lot of us welcome the return of actual singing in heavy music. It's been lacking, especially in the U.S. That and Su just has that ability vocally to evoke that emotion. Excited for you to see them. I'll be at the Boston and L.A. shows. Cannot wait.

I don’t know what it is but there is something about BABYMETAL that’ll get me choked up when I listen to them. I can just feel the positivity without speaking a word of Japanese. I only found out about them a week ago and I am so far down the Foxhole RN. I have been watching as many reaction videos to them as I can find, actually how I came across your videos. I was actually trying to find people that thought BABYMETAL was bad but video after video there was nothing but chills or complete shock at how good it was. Feel no shame at shedding a tear, most of us are right there with you.

Your reaction is really great! I have seen a lot of reaction videos so far. Your response is the most wonderful. You understand the true goodness of BABYMETAL. From Japan.

With most bands, you can hear 1 or 2 songs from an album and you get the gist of that band. With Babymetal, every song is an adventure.

Welcome to the "Fox Hole" sister. I too barely discovered Baby Metal in April of this year. A buddy of mine posted a video of a live performance on FB back in 2016 (I think it was Gimme Chocolate). Due to my ignorance, I brushed it off as "Oh, it's just a Japanese thing". Yeah...messed up, huh? The 3 videos that made me realize the power of the Fox God: CATCH ME IF YOU CAN-with the intro by the Kami Band. (Dude, that band is freakin' Awesome!). The HEADBANGER performance at Makuhari Messe was the kick in the ass I needed to genuinely appreciate Baby Metal. Finally, this same video of ROAD OF RESISTANCE genuinely melted my face off. (the album version is just as narly). Su Metal's voice just goes with the music. They have tracks that I guess are more J-Pop influenced, but that makes sense coming from this band. As of June,I now have a playlist of Baby Metal on my Spotify. LOL! I mean, these girls were meeting/shaking hands with Metal Gods while on tour, and blowing the roofs off of arenas around Japan before they were 20yrs old! They just Have the power of music, man. Baby Metal certainly left their imprint upon a new generation of Kawaii metal fans. I may have missed their years of existence before 2019, but thanks to ye ol' KZbin machine: I have a better appreciation for all things Baby Metal. I think Japan gets the privilege of these epic & awesome big production shows. With the exception of their show in Los Angeles this year, I think they will be playing "smaller " venues across the US this year. Regardless, i'm certain that even 1,000 Baby Metal fans can bring the energy of 10,000 members of The One to the show. Congratulations on getting the opportunity to attend a show! Have fun!!

I don’t know why, but Road of Resistance reminds me of those good old days of my childhood. Thank you for reacting to this song.

I think it's like a knockout punch to the left side of your brain. The Kawaii(cute) elements combined with the metal short cicuit the rational part of your brain - the side that would say "this ain't normal/right". Then the Right side of your brain is free to just enjoy the uplifting/inspirational/ entertaining aspect of the show. And the music truly is uplifting - even if you don't read the translated lyrics (which are often inspirational on their own). It's a joyous reaction that can just overwhelm - especially when you see the audience reaction to the hard work and talent on the stage. By the time your left brain has rebooted, it's too late - your hooked. BTW, I think the ending call and response "We are BABYMETAL!" is a tribute to Japan's greatest Metal band "X Japan" who used to end their shows with a similar call and response "We are X!"

If you want a total change of pace and a chance to see why her fans call her Queen Su, may I suggest No Rain No Rainbow from Legend S. This is a pure power ballard with Su singing solo. It really shows off the power of her voice. Additionally there is no chance it will be performed on the tour. It is very rarely performed and I don't think ever outside of Japan. This is a very emotional performance as it was a special 20th birthday concert for Su in her home city of Hiroshima (20 is their coming of age in Japan). Additionally for fans this is one of the very last recorded performances by one of their guitarist Mikio Fujioka who sadly died shortly after this. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnXKoqJsm8ifn7s

Lucky you. I’m jealous of you for getting to see Babymetal for the first time. I’ve seen them live three times and have been a fan for ages now. It’s nice to see someone who “gets” what it is the rest of us see in them.

It is so crazy to think that this was the show closer after 1 1/2 hours of doing the same thing. By the way I am a 47 year old man who has recently got stuck in the fox hole. This band just puts a smile on your face every time you see them. Also this song was a love song to the fans. It's fantastic.

I am so glad that you weren't "one and done". There is SOO much more to explore in the BABYMETAL world. You have a couple paths to choose from: go ack and watch BABYMETAL from the beginning ("Doki, Doki Morning", "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", "iine", "Headbanger") or jump to the present ("Pa Pa Ya", "Shanti", "Elevator Girl")… Either way, you're in for a hell of a ride!!!
