Chaka Khan is one of the best singers of all times. I feel she does not get the recognition she deserves. This song here is sooooooo funky. The intro is awesome!

All I can say is that this song is just one of my many favorites by Chaka Khan. I sit here and listen to this excellent musicianship, while looking at this fine picture and listening to Chaka's magnificiant voice and I realize that this is what the term FUNK really means. This true vintage Chaka at her absolute best, and the band - there are no words to describe your musical greatness! Can't NOBODY touch Chaka Khan and thats my opinion!

She said in an interview that she was part Blackfoot, and that was the reason that her stage outfits in the 1970’s were such. CK was like a Chicago Aretha, always powerful and seething with emotion.

Wait, this was recorded in the 90s? I guess I was thrown a bit because the outfit is the one I remember her wearing when I saw her in Sacramento in 1975. She came out on stage with those feathers, leather outfit and super high platforms, and seriously hitting those long wails at the beginning of "Once You Get Started". Everyone lost their minds!

Cut i've never heard and pic never seen of my FAVORITE Rufus & Chaka song - reprehensible costume? I have always wondered if Chaka was possibly daughter of King Oliver Sain & now wondering if maybe that crazy Indian King Chaz Berry - king of everything pop music? Anybody know? Maybe one of the other "Blues" Greats that Oliver migrated north from Mississippi with...Ike Turner, Howlin Wolf, Albert King, Muddy Watters, Etta James, etc.??? She is one of the top candidates for best female vocalist of my lifetime (since 1950)... Chaka - YOU GOT THE LOVE.....

Chaka Khan/Rufus, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, and George Clinton/Parliament GOTTA be the most funkiest groups and/or band ever!!!! Are there any others remotely close to their style these days? I don't know- maybe Ledesi, Chrisette Michele, and Jennifer Hudson. Please people, don't throw these upcoming artists away that may bring some soul to this generation. WOW- she now look like she did when she was in Rufus. Good job Ray Parker Jr. on the lead guitar.

Live meaning recorded live unlike a studio recording. Recorded music is edited unlike live music meaning the band was playing in the studio and it's like a concert at a music festival versus something that is been recorded and heavily edited in the studio. They played and the director pressed record. That is what is meant by LIVE. Go back to music from the 60s and 70s and you will not hear a lot of editing like you hear now. It mostly actual musicial instruments with actual players.
