This show reminds me a little of Fawlty Towers , Mr Slat and Basil are so very much the same character and hilarious lol. Even the relationship with his wife is similar to Fawltys. I've loved UK comedy since my dad introduced me to it when we watched television late at night when I broke my leg and couldn't sleep..best summer ever lol. If we got a direct link to your television shows now , I'd die a happy woman (eventually! not now..k? lol).

+Serene Rune yeah-British comedy is great! Have you seen Keeping up appearances, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, Sorry, etc. Where you from, by the way?

Southeast US :) I love Keeping Up Appearances! Hyacinth Bucket (Bouquet! LOL) Lady of the house speaking..loved the chemistry of the cast. I haven't seen Some Mothers Do 'Ave Em , the title Sorry seems familiar , I'll google it after my reply :) , I love the Irish sitcoms Father Ted and Mrs. Browns Boys as well. Way too many to list..old sitcoms like Allo Allo and a bit newer (for me anyway) like Coupling.

+Serene Rune You're American? do you find it easy to grasp the British accent? I'm gonna give you names of British sitcoms that will make you crack up: George and Mildred. I'll tell you some more later on. Bye!

Well, I got as far as the start of the interview in this part of the episode and I have had enough. I was giggling from start to finish of the first episode, as a retired teacher I could see scenes from real life teaching through the farce. But then it suddenly came too close to the bone. There is such a fine line between humour and dislike in farce and it depends as much upon the individual watching as the writing and acting itself.

Is it me or did Eric Slatt become Richie Richard in "Bottom"?? David Bamber's playing of the role seems exactly like the late, great Rick Mayall.
