Very useful information, thank you. I bought a small forge, so I can make silversmithing tools, but don't have (or have the room for) a belt grinder. So, a scraper is probably a good tool for the bigger stakes. Thanks again and have a nice one!

Very helpful discussion. I have heard about the sen for ages, but only recently found photos. Your chalk drawing helps fill in some holes in my understanding. Much appreciated. I have seen scrapers designed for making fullers, especially in Japanese blades. Those might be worth discussing if you do a talk on different fuller methods in the future.

Hello 😀 I'm really enjoying your "chalk talks", and other episodes also. Great work on sharing your knowledge and experience. You've encouraged to suggest some topics, so... Quenching. Water, oil, brine, super-quench. And... absorption of the heat- what minimum quantity of heat-absorbent is required to get this heat out and get martensite. How much is too little, how much is sufficient for a blade of certain size (let's say 100 grams) made of certain steel (let's say 80CrV2), and won't get too hot too fast so it would slow down getting this heat from the knife. And how hardness in HRC of the knife changes depending on this quantity. It would be very interesting to listen about it 😀 Greetings from Poland and keep up the good work 👍
