She did a pretty good job on this one! I remember years ago I almost hurt myself badly. I was using a 24” Fiskars chopping a pine down and when I was swinging down, it glanced off the tree and towards my foot. Cut through my Buffalo boot and into my sock and luckily didn’t get into my foot. Again, good job!

I can’t imagine doing all the work we do with saws and splitters with an axe! My boys have a few memories from around our yard. They got a hold of one of my axes when we moved in here and proceeded to attempt to chop down every oak and walnut tree in the yard. The trees all have the scars to prove it.

I had the tree maybe 3/4 cut when he caught me (I was just trying to help) I don’t have to tell you how mad he was or why I remember this story from 1975 ish. By the way the axe was dull and I think I stopped for dinner LOL I don’t remember ever telling this story to anyone before

Rachel you should have a lighter ax. Think of it like baseball you should be able to hold it out like swinging for a home run , not the hand slide down the ax.
