The Indian Classical Dance Forms are indeed hard to do and this Odissi Dance Form needs strong feet tapping movement + fluidity in the hand and body movement while doing specific "Mudras".All Indian Classical Dance Form Tells a specific story but now it has been fused with bollywood music but it's essence and beauty lies in doing with "classical music"..and you did so well Mayo❤👍We appreciate your effort.🤗

Oh my goodness! I haven't even watched the video and I'm so excited because I was born in Odisha and I have always wanted to try Odissi. I have been pretending to perform it ever since I was little. Odisha is not a very popular state in India that people talk about. So glad that you made this video. 😊 I spent my whole life in the US and now I am thinking of starting to learn Odissi or give it a try since Odisha is my birthplace and I want to try something that is very important to the culture there. Edit: I now finished watching the video. You danced so well for your first lesson! I remember having lots of trouble trying that neck and eye moving thing 😄 and the teacher is so amazing at Odissi! Unbelievable

Just yesterday I came to know about Beena Keum who is a Korean Odissi dancer and now I’m watching this. It’s so delightful to see so many foreigners admire and embrace our Odia culture. Btw even many Indians don’t know where Odisha is in the map, mostly North Indians, which is very shameful and dumb because we all learn geography in school. During my various trips to places in north India, like Delhi and Agra, I have been asked questions like “oh Bhubaneswar? Yeh kahan hota hai?” So thank you so much for learning this dance and I’m sure it would have been very difficult. 💖💖 Thank you for attempting to teach us Indians how to appreciate our own culture.
