You have to commend the new dude for putting himself out there and trying to make a difference, but the best way to ingratiate yourself with colleagues and to get results is not to talk to them like you are ruffling their hair and giving them a tap on the ass. He isn't their boss and he shouldn't be acting like he is! But also, whilst Roman is awesome, he also has a bit of that, 'we've been doing this 20 years, so we must be doing it right' attitude. Every business can be improved and every business needs to stop the ego and accept new ideas and perspectives. He shouldn't have shut the guy down how he did.
@Raph.Bogaert3 жыл бұрын
Exactly, every management course says that. Nice to read this comment. It's very difficult for a manager to accept that his way that has been the way for 20 years is not the best way anymore. Technology changes, people management changes, customers change, ... Keep up. Start by really listening to advice.

This is what owning a business is like, you have to manage the entire tribe and all the different personalities, the most difficult part is to keep everyone focused at the company as a whole but not individual interest. When everyone in the company realizes that the success of the company far outweighs individual gains, that's the ultimate dream for any business owner.

2k for a 2021 full set Seamaser 300 does seem like an awfully low offer. There is def way more than 500 in profit in that watch.
@AbundantlyBlessed293 жыл бұрын
But he was trading not selling. Would you rather have a batman or an omega? When taking into account how long they sit the offer was more than fair.
@kronikinsomniak3 жыл бұрын
Its low because they assume all the liability and have to resell it. Unless you personally want to take your chances with getting scammed on ebay or PayPal that is the price you pay for security and not running a full time business. Omega is all good when you are buying it at a discount, but this is the price you pay for buying a soft watch. Watches also don't move as fast as something like clothes, it has to be worth their while to hold and profit from.

To be fair, 2K USD for a 2021 Omega Seamaster 300 is a grotesque joke.
@kronikinsomniak3 жыл бұрын
It's low but the reasoning is not grotesque. Grey market dealers will always fall on the low side because you are paying for the convenience and security in the transaction. They are also in the business of reselling instead of someone buying the watch from you to keep. They need room for profit and extra room to move the watch and not lose money if it becomes hard to move. Why the heck would a business take that much more in liability just to make a couple a hundred of dollars on an Omega that is available on Jomashop for $4K? Also good luck selling it to a credible buyer yourself if you have no seller's history online. I rather take less but guaranteed money then risk losing all of it. That is what happens when you buy a soft brand.
@twotugstony79633 жыл бұрын
Then Adrian call it crap, wonder how many of their customers actually have and like the seamaster 300
@luffy8583 жыл бұрын
It's an incredibly low offer. If they wanted to justify it being incredibly low, I would have said that they have plenty in stock and offered a very low price as they had little interest in taking it on trade unless they could make excellent profit.
@law48533 жыл бұрын
Would have expected mid 2k on that one which is in line with what Adrian said but that was after or just cosign it.. I have a consignment piece (non-Rolex) with them and it is at a reasonable price but if I wanted a instant cash offer it's on the low end which is totally expected. You have to account for everything... overnight shipment potential both ways, tax, storage time, actual profit, and it goes on..

@@pymandragore Because Adrian is a complete tool, thinks he’s all that. I imagine hundreds of their customers own a seamaster 300 and don’t think it’s “crap”, his true colours have come out a long time ago.

@@pymandragore That's a typical "hype chaser" reply coming from Adrian. If Omega is crap, what is he? People who only think the expensive watches are the cool ones make me laugh so hard. His royal highness only talks about AP and RM

Guessing these guys operate on 25-30% margins which is pretty crazy to think about. You'd get more money at a pawn shop. The reason only the hot rolexes are selling is because of these KZbin channels. You guys hype up subs and GMT's so much then you get mad when your salesman make an easy buck dumping them lol... The watch game is so f'd up now.

You are paying for the convenience and security in selling your watch online with a grey market dealer. It is a totally different ballgame vs a direct face to face sale. Busineses need a low enough price that they can liquidate that stock at anytime and not lose money.

@@stockholmpublishings2937 50% off a brand new watch you mean? As it can be had for way less than 4k brand new more like 3.5k maybe even less than 3k if you have a rep with a dealer. They are not selling a seond hand watch for more than New

If you couldn’t come to an agreement on a deal that’s fine I think his review was uncalled for, but to call an omega and Panerai crap is crazy. I know you guys deal with a lot of higher end pieces but that scene made Adrian and Alex look like douche bags

Never saw a new employee have the arrogance and disrespect that Dennis had with Roman. I would have fired him on the spot. I'm definitely not a fan of Denis and something about him I don't trust! Maybe it's his extreme arrogance. Wonder why he was hired in the first place.

The goofy CS hire was trying to turn you into TPG, honestly - hilariously incompetent and unprofessional. His experience with trendy startups is genuinely a hindrance when working in a company that actually demands profits & also results in him justifying everything with buzz words without any actual substance or reason behind claims. Next time hire a consultant instead!
