Hardly surprising. Those D5s are some powerful little mofos. We had three D5SAs on our wheat farm in Washington state. My dad wouldn't have traded them for anything.

@davetileguy I used to know a guy that worked for Claas UK. Apparently they used to import the crawlers from USA and re-paint and re -badge them as Claas. When the joint agreement between Caterpillar and Claas finished ( i.e. to market Cat crawlers in Claas colours ) my friend left Claas and went to work for Challenger whose crawlers are virtually identical to the rubber tracked Cat. On a similar note, Caterpillar market Claas Lexion combines in N. America as "Caterpillar Lexions"

The Challenger hasn't got very good rubber, and anyway they serve totally different purposes. The D5 would be useless on a one-pass cultivator with its low horsepower. The Challenger treads lightly and has the power to travel fast. I've had D6, D7s, D8s and now I use a Challenger and get a lot more work done! And when I have finished a field I pull the spool lever and drive out of the gate to the next job instead of waiting for a low-loader to pick me up!
